    Head spinning... quick-E-fan question

It would be an interesting theory to test. Sadly i dont have that truck anymore to test it with or i would. I came to the conclusion that the factory clutch fan was better at maintaining temp with an intercooler and AC installed. I like my AC being ice cold in traffic and in a black crew cab...

    Head spinning... quick-E-fan question

For a memeber here i was going to let it go for $50 plus shipping (probably $30-40 for that though). I think i paid like $50 just for the diamond plate piece. It only fits the 93+ style tall radiators it wont fit the short wide ones (i have a 1991 with a short wide radiator). They are chinese...

    Head spinning... quick-E-fan question

And from what I've observed sitting in traffic at low speed with ac on and an intercooler pulling heat from your engine bay blocking your radiator temps got hotter than towing down the highway with clutch fan or electric fans. I live in a Flat area though I'm sure hills and mountains are much...

    Head spinning... quick-E-fan question

The radiator core on an OBS measures something like 24x31 so 744 square inches. a 12 inch fan is 6x6 = 36x 3.14 so 113 sq inches per fan so 452 square inches open for the fans so roughly 41% of the radiator is obstructed by the radiator shroud. I think the factory fan is 21 inches? Lets call it...

    Head spinning... quick-E-fan question

I have seen the one with the flaps and didnt like the design, i think maximum flow directed through radiator core is key. Even AFCO uses that design and many others...

    Head spinning... quick-E-fan question

If i opened that shroud, the fans short cycle and pull in air from behind the shroud and engine bay. Sealing them off forces the fans to pull the full length and flow rate through radiator cores. This is more important at idle and city driving then at highway driving when there would be enough...

    Head spinning... quick-E-fan question

Here's the one i made i was offering, 4 12 inch fans in a diamond plate shroud i made that bolts right into the factory shroud locaiton. I had the top fnas come on first and the bottoms ones second. I used two thermostats

    Head spinning... quick-E-fan question

I used efans before and monitored pre turbo, post turbo and post intercooler temps. I found the factory clutch fan works better but that the 4 efans were adequate. In traffic idling with AC on i could see coolant temp get over 210 as high as 220 where as with a clutch fan it rarely got above...

    "Re-clocking" turbo

I think it'll leak some oil from the CD-R too without the oring

    STERLING REAR HUB?????

I'd think oil only would allow them to run cooler. That's weird I've never heard of packed and oiled bearings

Is there a number cast into the block on the side?

    "Re-clocking" turbo

You can only rotate it so far before the snail interferes with the compressor housing. I'd get a spare oring in case that one tears too Some pics of my setup when I clocked mine http://www.oilburners.net/threads/water-air-intercooler-installed-and-true-cai-feel-free-to-laugh-at-it.76552/

    Wrecked my truck today :(

I always thought the trailer was covered as liability as in if it contributed to an accident or caused damage but not as a value even if you had full coverage until you had a separate commercial policy for it. Items bolted to the truck are counted but only as a dollar figure to the value of the...

    Bull Moose vs. R&D pumps

I've dealt with both vendors. Cdi a turbo with wicked wheel, moose pump and moose misters. R&D a cam, intake, s257x turbo, 3" dp, head studs Cdi is great about answering the phone and even took a ride to listen to my truck when I thought it was getting a diesel knock with the moose pump. The...

    Radiator temp

My engine with all new cooling system was cool to the touch on the bottom, so less than probably 50f on a 20 to 30f day top was around 120-140 or so. I run a winter cover on my psd it got up to 60f here today and I didn't take it off. oil temp stayed right at 205f and trans temp (runs through...

    glow plug test

Yes, it is. Not sure if I posted it here but here's my truck at 10f, when it's so cold wts doesnt always illuminate because of voltage drop. I wait for for cycle of voltage gauge indicating plugs are warmed up. Voltage should stay down for a solid 20 to 30 seconds even warmed up that's how mine was

Perhaps more of us should try this?

It was so strange when I moved from an idit to a 7.3 powerstroke. Completely draining the oil when I did the oil cooler my oil was black in my 190k idit motor in 100 miles. When I changed the oil in my 290k psd the oil was still amber colored until 3500 miles. I actually posted on the forum...

Who has had an add a leaf on there d60 and then took it out?

I got under the truck and it didnt look tapered to me. Both sides are the same. I wouldnt say i feel a wobble, more so i just feel the bump in the steering wheel. I have a new red head box on it that's tight

Who has had an add a leaf on there d60 and then took it out?

Oh great haha. I saw the bushings on the steering stabilizer are dry rotted and coming off so i ordered another a new one the other day and was hoping that was it. Sounds like i should just rebuild the front end though, i usually do on anything i buy but i've only had this one since August and i...
