    New water pump/Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m stationed over in Atlantic City @quickster It’s been an interesting three years to say the least lol I did run the truck with the radiator cap off once I put in about 4 gallons of coolant and the radiator was full. After about 5-10 minutes the coolant just started to flow over the cap :/...

    New water pump/Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy turkey day y’all. I’ve spent it installing a new flowkooler water pump. I have an 86 F250 6.9 and she has always ran well. New pump is installed and there is no leakage anywhere. I flushed the system but when I start the truck up it gets to 200 degrees which I don’t know if I’ve ever seen...

    Fuel leak on injector nut

@IDIBRONCO I just typed it in to google, and I like what I see. I'll grab the permatex sealer along with this pump: https://flowkoolerwaterpumps.com/products/1664-1983-1994-ford-420-445-water-pump Luckily for me right now, I do have some extra money and I want to set myself up nice. I was going...

    Fuel leak on injector nut

That's what I figured... Anyone have any advice on water pump suppliers or things to look for when installing I'd appreciate it. Going to try and tackle this before the weather gets too cold.

    Fuel leak on injector nut

So I went out there to snap those photos and started the truck this morning and let it idle for about 15 minutes. When I shut it down I heard a bunch of fluid coming out from underneath. Low and behold there was a bunch of coolant? coming out of the main pulley on the engine. My guess is a...

    Fuel leak on injector nut

I’ll snap those photos here in a bit and take a look. I’m on baby duty for the next couple hours. I bought the kit for accurate diesel I believe, it came with the braided fuel line so it was better than the kit I bought a few years back. I don’t believe the line nut is cross threaded only...

    Fuel leak on injector nut

So I know it’s something simple but I’m posting anyways. I am getting a small fuel leak where the injector line threads in above the plastic return line piece. I just put a new return line in with those plastic pieces. What I’m wondering is why it seems like the metal injection line on the aft...

    1986 Ford F-250 fuel prime loss/ surging

Haven't been on in a while and just logged in for the same exact problem. Truck used to suck air when running off the front tank after it was below 3/4 full. I didn't have the time or money for the fix so I have been running her on just the rear tank for about a year with no problems. About...

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

You guys are all awesome and thank you for all the mechanical wisdom! Hearing the stories is also great in the learning experience. The truck is up and running! It makes a huge difference having 8 working glow plugs, she fires up in a split second. I ended up buying a new relay from Napa for 19...

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

Just read your post Bronco, thanks for the input. After all this, watch me go out there and slap a nut on the post to make a good contact and then the truck fire up. FML. Called it quits for now though, slight rain out there and it’s 9 o’clock. Plus wifey just asked rob take a shower together...

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

Okay, so I messed up. There is 12VDC at the purple post.... I removed it and put a nut on it. I have the positive meter lead on the battery positive and the negative meter lead at the purple post and there was 12VDC. There is also 12VDC if I go positive battery terminal to glow plug harness...

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

So I had it right? I hope so! If it was the started relay then the engine wouldn’t crank right? Either way, aren’t these relays internally connect so shouldn’t I be seeing 12VDC?

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

So I’ve installed the manual glow plug switch and the glow plugs aren’t getting power... The engine is cranking and exhaust is coming out. I attached a picture of the relay, maybe that is bad now? So the yellow circle is the positive connection from the battery where I have 12VDC. The red circle...

Hell yeah, thanks Wes Paul. Think I should take a torch to it before to help ease it out of there? Was thinking could heat it up cool it down a couple times before backing it out

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

Hahah well thankfully I didn’t massage any leaks, at least that I know about... She is solid at the ottoman like y’all mentioned, boy does that make me happy. I wanted to do the manual bypass originally but figured I would take what I thought would be the easy route lite and just just replace...

Forde E350 short school bus 7.3L IDI - surging at idle

I bought my 86 6.9 of Craigslist sight unseen and then drove it from Alaska to San Diego and then to New York without any problems! Now I’m starting to see a few minor problems but still nothing bad at all. Glad to see another guy out there buying a classic truck and rambling across the country!

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

Is it solid at the bottom? My damn knees hurt so bad from sitting on the grill deck and it was so cold and dark by the time this happened I cracked a beer and closed it all up. Never looked down in there to see what was going on

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

So I was putting in new glow plugs, then went to install the new controller and when taking the old one off it snapped just above flush with the block. Anyone have any advice on getting that sumbeetch out? I am now going to just do a bypass and install a manual switch and forget the OEM design.

    ‘86 6.9 glow plug question

If it is your controller, which it very well could be if all connections are good, be careful taking it off. I’d suggest replacing it with the manual bypass button that you had on before that dude replaced it to stock like you said. I literally today just replaced all my glow plugs and then went...
