86 reg cab weight
My 86 F250 Long bed Regular cab 2wd ran 5,200lbs at the scale two years ago. I had both fuel tanks running on fumes and I even stepped out the truck when I weighed it. The tag on the door says something a bit more than that but I weighed it twice and got the same weight.- Stu Bailey

Oil on dipstick doesn't look right
Drained the oil today and ran the coolant pressure test on the system. She held steady! I had a loose hose clamp on the upper radiator hose but that was it. I had just installed that so I just needed a couple more turns. Filled it back up with oil and then drove it home. Dipstick looked good...- Stu Bailey

Coolant Flush Procedure
@RSchanz I replaced the coolant and flushed the whole system. I had to replace my water pump so I figured I would just service the whole system while I was at it. Put new hoses on as well- Stu Bailey

The idea of a petcock on the block sounds pretty good to me. I just did a flush for my first time as well last weekend. I have the 9/16" plug on the block and it came out pretty easy. I didn't bother removing the block heater, that thing can be a pain in the arse getting back in with the starter...- Stu Bailey

Oil on dipstick doesn't look right
I'm probably going to drain the oil tomorrow after work. Then I'll let it sit for a day or so until I can get back underneath it and pull the plug and see if anything else leaked in there. What oil do you use?
So at work we have jugs of Renewable Lubricants Biosynthetic oil. I just tried it out on my truck a few weeks back. Oil on dipstick doesn't look right
So after finally driving the truck back home from installing the new water pump I shut it off and waited a bit before checking the oil. It didn't look right, looked a bit thin, possibly watery? I attached a photo of the dipstick. If this is water on the dipstick, I'm thinking it got in there...- Stu Bailey

I have a temp gun and it says 199 below the driver side valve cover but only 150 just below the tstat housing. It would have to hit 195 at the tstat to open right?- Stu Bailey

So I jacked up the front end and bought this over priced funnel to help burp some of the air. It didn’t seem to want to burp.. if I squeezed the upper rad hose then yeah I got some air out of it. I pulled the block drain plug as well, and flushed the whole system. Made sure to make a big mess in the process too haha. About to head over to the shop and give this all a try. I’ll post back with the results!- Stu Bailey

@IDIBRONCO Would you say 200 degrees is pretty standard driving around not towing? I have a stock temp gauge and an aftermarket one with numbers. It read 200 but the stock one read near the cool end of normal.- Stu Bailey
