    FIPL fun

Mine before I reset mine was at 1.54.... Let me tell you full line pressure shifts at 3000rpm weren't great. It's not great now but I think my E40D has a shift kit and an aftermarket computer. It shifts a bit hard sometimes but I guess it is an old work horse. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

Yeah I might just do it all at the same time. I'll see I know when I pulled the IP feed the olive seals look like they've seen some better days, about as dry the Mojave desert... They surprisingly don't leak but I know diesel is much thicker than air. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

I want to keep the mechanical pump, but I know if it gets to be where I can't get this air intrusion under control the pump will atleast prime the system easily. Is there a post somewhere that tells you what size olive seals to get for the IP feed line, the one seal for the filter head, and...

    093 ATS Grommet

New saga in this truck story. Air intrusion issues.... Runs amazing, but sometimes it takes a lot to get it running... And sometimes it'll fully unbled.... No visible leaks, I know I need olive seals for the injection pump feed line, I probably need some for the lift pump to filter head. I...

On the fence about tires (yep, another tire thread)

Oh no trust me there is a point that being cheap will cost you more money in the long run, but as long as it's a fairly recognized brand, and not just some "westlakes" or "GOODRIDES" ( Yes that's a tire brand. ) it should be more than sufficient. My uncle only buys the best Goodyears for his...

On the fence about tires (yep, another tire thread)

Honestly, LT225/75/16 will be the best cheapest bet ( from what I remember, Used to work at a tire shop ) and most wide range. I'm sure I'll get some flak for this, if you aren't hot shotting, or pushing the upper limits of these tires, A tire, Is a tire. The only thing that truly matters is the...

    093 ATS Grommet

I love the bull nose, but I'm glad mine is 94 factory turbo, Came from a 12v 96 Dodge Cummins 2wd to this... Other than the fact that these trucks are a bit more tempermental I much prefer this 7.3 idi over that 12v... Granted it may be that nice, solid 4x4 shifter on the floor...

    093 ATS Grommet

It desperately needs a good wash, clean wheels etc. It's gonna be used as a toy, my daily when wife uses the car, and to tow my camper when hurricanes come by. There's a couple weird things this truck does but I just assume it's cause it's a 25year old truck Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    093 ATS Grommet

This saga has finally ended, pulled the front cover, redid all the gaskets, cleaned, RTVed everything. no more leak. When I had pulled the front cover there was about 1/8th inch of RTV missing on the pan hump, which is where I suspect all my oil was being pushed from. Been driving it daily for...

Anyone put both batteries on one side?

I plan on running two Group 31s and a couple more deep cycle batteries in a truck tool box. It's not a hard setup to do, I've done it before. I used a breaker, ran the power cable along the frame to the starter and alternator. I've done one I used a BMW 3 series power distribution block, ran a...

    Project Little Foot

Painting the frame isn't a bad idea, just degrease it good, pressure wash a couple times and just get a cheap spray paint gun and some basic single stage black or something and spray it. I wouldn't concern myself with making it super good but it'll somewhat help the prevention of rust. The...

    Tire shop: rant/question...

I did that on my expedition, 5miles it took before the glue holding on the shoes came apart. Jammed itself and was wondering why it felt down on power.... It also started to make the LSD rear shatter after. Not fun. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    Tire shop: rant/question...

Had a guy show up with a caliper locked up on his 1500 Silverado. It was so hot the plastic lug and hub covers had completely melted to the lugs.... And then we shattered every stud on the wheel, I assume from being tempered lol.. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    blown HG?

I had this issue on my 12v. It's most likely a head gasket issue, compression is just slipping by and blowing into a coolant port. Mine would stay pressurized for 2-3 days after as well, and literally explode with coolant if you popped the cap.

    Tire shop: rant/question...

It seems manufacturers get "low mileage" tires because I've seen those brand new cars with 20k miles have flat wear pattern... No alignment issues or anything... It's odd... I just assume they get a higher tread wear tire to slap on for some reason . Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    Tire shop: rant/question...

Used to work at a shitty looking mom and pop shop for tires. The two owners were straight up insane about not scratching or damaging anything, if the guy changing your tires doesn't have a rag or two on him to use to not scratch up the alloy or paint then walk away, even those plastic guards...

I'm tempted on ordering a new balancer too and a new seal. Mine isn't badly grooved but it could be eccentric and not perfectly round. Sent from my LM-G710 using Tapatalk

    093 ATS Grommet

I literally installed the new one 2 hours ago. I offset it so it wouldn't sit on the groove from the balancer, the speedy sleeve wouldn't fit without machine work. I made sure the new main seal fit tight around the balancer and it did. The groove isn't that deep either you can barely feel it...

I am stumped. Oil pan shouldn't be leaking it's well sealed and stuck on. I threw a new front main seal, offset from the balancer so it's out of the groove. What else can leak in the front of these trucks ? Will upload video to show. It's substantial, same spot after oil pan was redone and new...

    Need some tranny help

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1120114-a-t-e40d-fipl-tps-sensor-trouble-shooting-and-adjustment-diesel-applications-only.html I have it in my bookmarks. I reset mine just a bit and it made my shifts go from redline and full line pressure ( no matter what ) to almost a 99/00 truck... smooth...

Project: The New CDD Shop Truck

Hope you had a lot less cursing and bitching than me with that endeavor today. This truck is looking good, and I'm sure everyone will give you some weird looks with an old Ford Pick up rompin on cars down the 1/4.

victory, the passenger sid emount doesn't want to line up, but transmission is fully matted, and drivers side mount is loosely bolted in... thank christ.
