    It works well for the DTI Tech Time meter too. I recently tried it, and then confirmed with the clamp on sensor. I just “attached” the wire to the collar with a zip tie.

    Look again, but closer this time. That smooth pulley is the vacuum pump. If that were the case, the water pumps would be different for serpentine and v belt setups.

    $60 per cylinder sounds pretty cheap. My machine shop wanted $200 per cylinder to install sleeve and finish hone. A normal bore and hone was $80.

    If you can’t find a block locally, I’ve got one that should work for “sleeveing”. It’s the NA block that was in my truck originally that tossed rods on 7 & 8.

    I’m not sure other than it was easy and fast. I don’t think he was using heat though. And that’s something I wasn’t thinking about earlier you wouldn’t want heat to be functional without the truck running. Those seat heaters draw a fair amount. Probably use relays, with the switch being powered...

    Typically power seats are powered even with the key off. You could probably tie in to the power door locks if you have them. Or just run a wire from the under hood fuse panel, and add an inline fuse. Rich Deboss from Deboss garage on YouTube used a Milwaukee 12v tool battery to power the seats...

    You say you tried going up a size, what exactly did you try? The next easiest step may be to try and tap it out to 3/8 NPT and install a pipe plug. I don’t think there’s enough metal there to drill it out and tap for a 16mm drain plug. It would be easier than welding.

    Locked, make sure the column doesn’t get locked. I imagine it would be difficult to keep your eyes on the road trying to lick the column.

    Fuel filter changes?

    RockAuto lists a WIF sensor as 7/6” x 1.30. We’ll, 1.30mm thread pitch would work out to about 20 TPI so I think the factory sensor should work, as wix says 7/16”-20 for the sensor. But RockAuto also mentions NPT for the sensor, so take that for what it’s worth.

    https://www.wixfilters.com/Lookup/PartDetails.aspx?Part=5017 Looks like you need to provide the sensor. I’m assuming it’s the same as original. I’ve never used them, I just knew they existed. I prefer the original style removable bowl, as it lets you inspect for contamination a little easier.

    What about the PS return lines/hoses? Perhaps a restriction there is causing some peculiar behavior with the valving in the steering box. Maybe try lifting both front tires off the ground and compare the steering with the engine off, and with the engine running.

    The probe has to go almost all the way to the dampener. Typically the probe is 8mm and the tube is 5/16”. You can either gently file down the OD of the probe (that’s what I did), or enlarge the tube.

    Shop labor rates are high now. Like $140/hr high. Labor rates at the machine shop aren’t much different. I was looking at $1800 worth of machining on my heads.
