With the mileage on the idi, I'd treat it as a core. Turbo engines have a nasty habit of pistons cracking around the larger wrist pin area and can window blocks.
Cummins engine with that mileage in this area still runs around the $1500 mark. Turbo idi engine with that mileage is around the $500...
Itsacrazyasian services this one, Down in the Boca Raton area, and was up for grabs when I was down there last month. It got a new alternator one night because it donated one for my 03 when it started fighting me back.
Replacement rear main seal part #F2TZ-6701-A. Should also come with the repair sleeve for the crank.
Autozone has been starting to cross over to National seals #3894v and is a Viton seal but IIRC doesn't come with the repair sleeve.
If going from brick nose truck to brick nose truck, pedal swap wasn't needed for the 2 swaps I've done so far. No binding or braking concerns.
Now going from a brick nose to bull nose setup, pedal swap was warranted.
Try to keep FICM logic power above 10 volts or you're going to kill it quickly.
Are you seeing any low oil pressure gauge movement on the dash cluster?
If not, any flow into the filter canister when someone is cranking it for you?
Early or late model 04? ICP on HPOP cover for early or on valve...
Same here Russ. Even use the replacement Dorman oil coolers in the 6.0L's.
Have a half dozen IDI oil cooler assemblies on the shelf here as well that were salvaged from core engines.
She's gotten a god workout since I've owned it and the PO I bought the truck from just used it to haul his fiver.
The truck was originally a factory crew cab long bed 4x4 so no cab and chassis dealings there. It was nice to get a folder that was 3" thick of paperwork on the entire history of the...
Whats odd with the 2 trucks I had Cal, both were crew cab duallies one and 89 4x2 , the other a 90 4x4 and both had the same gvwr on them and I kept getting whacked commercial fees on the 90 and paid 3 times the reg fees. cookoo
FWIW my dually has the Arrow Craft adapters front and rear and was like that when I bought it 10 years ago. The truck was converted and used as a municipal service truck prior, with a utility bed on it, and after going back to civilian use, it's hauled fivers since. My current fiver weighs in at...
The one on the left was the aftermarket filter and the Motocraft one is on the right. Doesn't look like a big difference but is enough proof to keep the drainback valve partially opened.
And I think your right about the 7.3l's appetite. LOL
I'f it's using oil, injector orings could be starting to fail bleeding the HP oil system down causing hard starts too.
Any soft codes that were stored from the CEL?
Yep, the aftermarket filters just dont stand quite tall enough. LOL
If you'r looking for just stock injectors, I've found Mels to be the best pricing around and have had good luck with them so far in the trucks that I've installed in for customers and friends.
That comment right there tells me pull it and rebuild it time is near for that engine.
It irritates the piss out of me that people feel aftermarket filters and sensors are ok to run on these engine. NOT!!
Just getting finished rebuilding my buddys 04 that due to similar scenario.
The volume of...
I'll second a fresh filter change filled with your favorite injector cleaner at the end of the day and about a 1 minute run on the truck to get the additive into the IP and injectors and let it set overnight.
Having worked with the 90cc Moose and the 100cc Moose pumps I can say from tuning experience that the 90cc Moose pump coupled with one of the big 3 boxed turbo systems and an intercooler setup is a great towing combination to keep EGT's within check and no worries about melting anything down and...
