The 7th Annual Fall Rally is oficall ON!

Had a great time with family, friends and meeting a few new fellow oil burners as well. It's great to see how this weekend is really growing. Thanks for hosting again Darrin. :D And yes it was great to have the trailer stopping Goldie instead of the other way around. :)

need rear fuel tank bracket for cab and chassis

Gonna be cheaper to make a plate/ strap assembly. Ford still has it but not sure you'll like the ridoncoulous price tag attached to it. Have restored 2 cab and chassis in the past and was way cheaper to make one from scratch.

    Finally!!!

That'd be my concern if the thrust bearing got smoked. Cranks usually don't fair too well once that happens. :(

Is a SMF bad for transmission?

Sent an email to ZF and this is what was sent and found.

    long cranking problem

To the OP, check the glow plugs for ohms values (best method) 1-2 ohms, or a somy continuity check with a test light with the clip on the positive battery post and test probe on each glow plug spade. Sounds like you've got a couple that have burned out.

I'm prolly the only one with a meter and it doesn't like to travel too well. It stopped working at the rally this summer and works now but I can't rely on it as being accurate anymore.

    'Nother Suspect IP Question

    'Nother Suspect IP Question

LOL It's got a home projected already. If you want, I've got a compression tester you can use if need to.

    'Nother Suspect IP Question

That's a fair amount of blowby Don. May want to run a compression test to see where the numbers are at. If compression starts dipping into the 200's, she's gonna have starting issues.

    banks sidewinder wire?

Oiler I'm presuming the oil feed line to the turbo? That sensor should be the factory oil pressure sender / switch.

Talking with Tim at Barnett, he was going to use pistons from Diamond. They make them per customer spec. ;)

    Cavitation Pictures

The second pic shows pitting on the cylinder wall. I'd say she's a Swiss cheese candidate.

    input on dyeing interior

Getting the surface cleansed and degreased thoroughly is imperative to allow the product to adhere properly and that's going to determine how long it'll last.

These are the closest you will ever get to matching the factory colors.

Fuel problem has everyone around here stumped.. Please Help!

There's an 8" piece of rubber line supplying the lift pump. May look there as an air intrusion point. Also where the supply line coming from the fuel selector valve is plastic then turns to steel about a foot before the engine crossmember. That too is a common leak point for rust belt trucks...

Changed standpipes and dummy plugs, still doing the same thing.

The early HPOP's had a life expectancy of around 150k.

are 1994 6.5's prone to block cracking?

Yes the blocks are prone to cracking. Primarily the rear 2 cylinders. As the material is thin in those areas on the cylinder walls.
