    Project Big Red

if you cut and fab that intake. You probably want to do it on the engine? I think R&D was having issues initially with warped intakes when he was fabbing them loose? I could be all wet. Custom intake seems to be the way to go. For that matter would R&D's intake work for you? It's already fabbed?

    87 Crew Cab w/ 6 doors

I thought this looked good. I normally work from the inside out to the edges if I'm thinking right. Seems like I play with the pulls everytime I get the stud gun out then decide what's working. Also I've found it's help full to pull on a stud and then tap the crowns around the dent with a...

whats the best way to tackle this?

One caution I've heard about, but not experienced using things like structure tube to stiffen sheet metal. Sometimes as things expand and contract you can get ghost lines or oil canning in a panel. The strutural tube expands at a different rate than the sheet metal. So depending on how it's...

    an IDI Batmobile/Rat-Rod...

Keep the S10 frames out of open wheel cars. Should be a law on that! S10 clip under the right vehicle no problem. But I don't want to see all the crappy S10 mounts and A-arms hanging out in the open. I like cars chopped and lowered, but they still have to be driveable. Cars that you can't...

    Fuel drainback through lift pump?

Maybe check the fuel heater o-ring? super simple to change if it's leaking. I just a Viton O-ring from a cheapy Viton o-ring kit I had.

    7.3 Removal and Installation

I've always gone up and over the radiator support. You do need a good puller to get that much weight that high though. I also never do anything to the transmission, but unbolt it from the engine. I do use a jack to adjust it's height, but I don't move it otherwise. Getting the clutch and input...

whats the best way to tackle this?

I'd work out the dents with stud gun and fill it to smooth it out.

whats the best way to tackle this?

yeah what are you trying to fix there? I'm not seeing anything that I would replace a panel for. Could be missing it.

DOORS! OBS vs XL vs XLT????

Yeah, 95-97 have that added detail down low. If the 94 has it on one side makes me think that side was replaced. I didn't realize they put it on the rear doors I thought is was a front door only type thing. Everything bolts up the same as I understand it, but they will look slightly different.

    Business trip to Hypermax

I'd be interested to know if they plan to stop making any of their IDI kits or parts in the next 3-5 years. Particularly their Inter coolers. for the ATS turbos.

Tips for getting to #2 line nut on IP?

I was going to use a spark plug socket. clearance it in a mill. Just haven't taken the time to bring it to work yet. Spark plug socket has all sorts of clearance inside. And the OD hex if you wanted to put a wrench on it.

Need quick advice on 7.3 IDI purchase

If the fender, hood, bumper were all in good shape and match the condition of the rest of the truck 5K would seem more reasonable. I'm with the other guys I'd probably be in the 3500-4K range. Now your in NJ and I'm guessing that truck is really rust free. Hell it's really rust free for Iowa...

"One of a kind IDI Dually" Lincoln IA 4900 obo

Somebody put a hell of a lot of work in that back in the day. They appear to have done a really nice job. Just too bad it's weathered that poorly. Price seems pretty steep to me. I'm guessing SRW wheels up front under the simulators. We always call those little fiberglass toppers like...

Best method to revive original paint

I've been a fan of the Wizards polishing compounds. And sure finish orange Foam pads. I normally using Wizards Mystic cut anymore. Start to finish one compound. Front axle disengagment 2005 3500 Ram 4x4

The older dodges used a Center Axle Disconnect so that it would disconnect the front end when not in 4x4. Looks like the 2005's have it also from a quick search. It's mounted on the passenger side axle tube and has vacuum lines and crap going to it. It's a vacuum diaphram that moves a sleeve. So...

I think I used 3/8" U-nuts from the local parts store. Easier than a nut and bolt. Ask them to look at their Au-Ve-co parts.

97 dually parts to 90 srw

As far as I know all the Dana 60 Dually and Dana 60/50 SRW hubs are interchangable on the spindles. So that shouldn't be an issue. I know in the mid 90's I think they changed the brake caliper retention method, but that shouldn't affect the hub.
