Do you have your wastegate hooked up? Unless you're looking to do a mandatory top end rebuild, I would definitely run some sort of boost controller. That way you could floor it without worry. Or at least a lot less worried, dependent upon where are you set your Boost level. IMHO anything above...- saburai

Agreed on a cast iron head issue! However a properly built 1.9 IDI VW in a Suzuki Sidekick would be competent both on the road and off while returning possibly 40 MPG- saburai

Awesome! What turbo will you be installing? I'm running a Conestoga baby moose and injectors and a typ4 60 - 1 ATS/stock turbo set up. I too, am eagerly anticipating my intercooler from Wes!- saburai

If my research has correct VW made IDI diesels up until 1995. There were Factory turbocharged versions as well. This is definitely a back burner project for me only because I have so much other stuff on my plate. I'll update with more information at least, as soon as I find it...- saburai
