    Check to make sure the relays are wired correctly. It sounds like you are backfeeding the headlight switch somehow. Disconnect the relays and see if the issue disappears. If it does, I'd study the relays a bit more.

    There are 2 relays, you can swap them out if the low beam fails or simply jump the terminals with. Short piece of solid wire. I also have a #10 wire ran to the back of my truck and relay modded the reverse lights. 3 years in the relay has been solid.

    The EBay socket mentioned above would work great. I cut the passenger side factory harness and spliced wires onto it. That is the tie in point and what is used to control the relays. That is the only point where the new setup meets the factory harness.

    Chris, both the IDI and the PSD engines thrive with the pedal on the mat! The IDI in particular was designed and tested running on the governer. I have a 4K gov spring and run up to 38-3900 rpm's all the time. Driving like a grandpa and being unhappy with the lack of power seem contradictory...

    It all depends how you value your truck. I value mine at what it would cost to replace it with a similar newer truck, say an '02 Superduty 7.3. The replacement cost of my truck would be $16-20,000. Its a shame that some feel these trucks are all but worthless. I hold a high value to mine.

    I never said I wouldn't buy/build another. I would like another 7.3 Excursion and I would like to build a monster DT360, for another truck, maybe a super cab 4x4 dually.
