    Ride height??

FWIW the '92 in my sig with new stock Ford front springs and new stock Ford front shackles has a little over an inch between the rubber bump stop and the plate the shock and u-bolts wrap around. Nick

    Worn out front leaf

What is "very low"? Measure from the top of the leaf spring to the bottom of the bumpstop and let us know what that is. I say this because I thought the same of my '92 F250 extracab and new springs were bought from Ford using a PN found in a TSB about Supercab diesel springs. Install the new...

    Factory tow hitch setup?

Looks like a Class III to me... The drawbar looks a little light for what you are proposing to do too. I assume you have a different one for the car hauler? Nick

    Ford Brake Spring Tool

I use a similar tool from KD - http://www.ebay.com/itm/KD-3499-HEAVY-DUTY-BRAKE-SPRING-TOOL-/281039005957?pt=Motors_Automotive_Tools&hash=item416f3ae905&vxp=mtr#ht_908wt_674 Looking at the pics of that Snap-on tool I think the KD tool is better. Gets a better grip on the spring. The KD tool...

    Glow plug in intake runner???

^^^^This is correct. Even one bad connection to a glowplug will make the controller not work right. BTDT. Nick

    Some more cummins swap questions!

I see in your sig line that you have 4.10 gears. Those are a little too low to work with the Cummins RPM range. At 65-70 mph my truck ran 2400 rpm. The Cummins is happier at 2000 or less so I see a gear swap in your future too (I have 3.55's to put back into my truck once the motor is...

    Some more cummins swap questions!

I'm builting a very similar truck to what you're thinking of doing. - Hydroboost - I swapped a hydroboost into my truck too. To keep that I machined a plate to run the stock Ford power steering pump in Cummins motor. That ment I had to rework the Cummins gear to work with my P/S pump. But...

So I went in for an alignment and....

'Nother option: buy a complete TTB from the junkyard, rebuild it then swap it into your truck. That way your truck isn't in pieces all over the driveway for several weeks while you figure out how to do the work or collect the tools you need. Nick

FS - 7.3 IDI SMF Single Mass Flywheel $75

I have a single mass flywheel from my '92 F250 7.3 IDI. Was installed for 10K miles then I pulled the 7.3 for a 5.9 Cummins so I don't need this anymore. The flywheel was resurfaced when installed - there is no measurable wear on it since then. Just enough use to show where the clutch rode...

    WTB 7.3 IDI cylinder heads

I have a pair of heads from the truck in my sig line. Motor was running fine when pulled other than being tired. Located near Cincinnati, OH. Nick

    1994 Dana 60 "conversion kit"

Do you have any extra rear 4x4 F350 lift blocks floating around? I'd love to get my truck raked the right direction... Thanks, Nick

Anyone Got Pictures of F350 Single Cab Dually?

ZWilson07, If you are looking for front Dana 60 dually hubs I have a set available in Lawrenceburg, IN. Bought just the hubs to convert the Dana 50 then bought a complete Dana 60 to convert the truck in my sig. So I have an extra set. PM me if you are interested and we can go from there...

    Anyone run Rotella 15w40

Been running synthetic 5w-40 Rotella in the Ford in my sig line for years. It would leak 2 qts over 5K miles from dried out valve cover gaskets but no issues of burning it worse than any other oil. :dunno Nick

    looking for a running 7.3

I have a '92 7.3 with 428K miles about 2.5hours from Louisville, KY. Complete other than a few sensors. Was getting tired so it got pulled for a Cummins swap. Nick

    Air bags front springs

http://kelderman.com/ has a front air ride set-up for '99 and newer Super Duty's. While it may not fit an OBS truck the design ideas can be adapted to work. Nick

Hydroboost on CL cheap!! Maryland near PA

I found the pushrod on that C'List hydroboost to be longer than the pushrod on my stock '92 vacuum booster. I welded up a spacer to move the hydroboost to where it worked without cutting the pushrod. Since I had to make bolt flanges for both sides of my spacer I delt with the different bolt...

    Where to find this clip?

The junction widget is sometimes included with new cables. Least it was included with the new intermeadiate cable I bought recently from Rockauto. A good autoparts store like NAPA might be able to get one too. Otherwise a junkyard truck, the dealer or someone here parting out a truck. Nick

    92 F250

Let me get this straight - a running diesel truck that is clean, rust free and one owner - and $2300 is TOO MUCH!? Really?? I'll take a clean truck with a blown motor any day over a rotted out truck with 50K miles. A motor (or most any mechanical system on these trucks) can be swapped in a...

    front end alignment question

If the pic you posted is of your truck there are at least 3 pieces of leaf that are extra on the bottom of the leaf pack. The overload stuff on the rear is likely stock. The 3 long leaves in the front look stock to me - I have an '89 here now that has the same 3 leaves in front. The '92 in my...

Most miserable vehicle repair to date...

I know about that one... My other daily driver is a '96 Camaro Z28 - 350 V8/6sp - all the toys. Time for new spark plugs - 6 in 30 minutes. The last 2? 7.5 hours of wrench tossing cussin' frustration! Book time is 8 hours - yep I underestand why. There are part numbers cast on the side of...
