    1985 F250 6.9 short to ground

Right top rear where the Yellow wires attach is where I had one of my truck's wiring overheated.

Disconnect the Hi/low beam switch on the floor and check for the problem. 1 thing to check if you have not done so. They tend to get moisture in them and go bad.

    Fuel tank pickup tube

It is easier (for me) to work on tanks with the bed off. The earlier truck like yours and mine have a brass float that eventually leaks & fills with fuel. I have seen them on the internet but I did fix both of mine in a different way. You can add a length of hose to the end of the pickup tube...

    1985 F250 6.9 short to ground

What problem are you having with the lights? The few trucks I have owned did not have many lighting problems other than Main light switch and hi/low switch on floor. Most grounds for lighting is usually grounded to body/frame.

Same location as mine. Use a relay anyway. Short may be in your new lighting setup since it was working fine before them. Switch is on driver's side of your C6.

OP may want to purchase from DCP here in Memphis, he MAY get lucky bot I doubt it. I could drive over and buy, swap, return since I am closer than most. Ain't gonna happen. There are lots of 'endeavors' around here that supports families/generates profits. Hopefully the law will catch up with...

Bad Injector - How to Locate?

Easiest way I've found for checking injectors is, as Wes suggested in other threads, using a laser digital thermometer and shoot injector lines at injectors seeing which injector is running substantially cooler than the others. Then check out suspected injector further or compression of all...

valve stem seals and oil consumption

Time for a re-ring. I tried the seals w/o any change to oil usage. Cylinders still had cross hatching so I just ball honed. Worked great after that with no oil loss. I replaced all bearings except cam, used bore scope ad they 'looked' good. Did replace pistons, bushings, lifters & pushrods...
