    Like Philip1, I use a 3' extension with impact swivel & short socket. I do not have turbo installed (yet) on edit: Pull the TC with the tranny.

    Look for the bushing seam ( maybe at 2 o'clock on your picture) & use either a sharp punch or sharp small chisel & hit the edge of the steel liner to bend inward until you can knock it out clean.

    The Holley Red has a very fine screen mesh inside the pump feed chamber that will stop up, restricting flow.

    Possibly a piston wrist pin also. My old 302 sounded like this until it threw a rod thru the side + broke piston. Constantly tapped.

    Get a FAT o-ring for the filter cover retainer wing-nut bolt. Keep that water out. I use a rubber mat over mine.

    OH yes it will start and run (BAD). Probably have a rod or 2 bent. Check your compression. That starter is a HOSS. If you ever suck water in from crossing too deep water, first pull all glowplugs BEFORE you a restart.

    Turn pump 1/16th towards the passenger side to see if it does better since it cranks/runs easy.

    I remove the bed whenever I have to work on fuel tanks also. Much easier (for me)

    FYI: Moisture in a refrigeration/cooling system is not water/H2O, but hydrochloric acid/HCI.

    Gasser/diesel replacement condenser should be the same. The GDP 3605C one should have all the mounting brackets.

    Pulling heads from a 1983 F250 6.9

    Also do oil cooler, oil pan, & whatever you need to do. Or find a newer year, 86+ to renew instead. Don't try to crank/run anymore since you are at risk of hydrolock & bending rods. Also check freeze plug/block heater hole for crack in that area.
