    What is this spring thing?

It is factory, on all of mine, so should be attached. Use a pair of needle nose pliers or hemostats to wiggle it back in there. Not hard to do. You are doing really good at checking out the small stuff there. Mine are all non-turbo & I put a rubber mat over the air filter covers to keep...

    Rear Brake problems

I used a hose from older truck to bypass. Fit right in. Years ago. Centric 15065325 at rockauto.com I think it was. If you have to lock up the brakes, the rear will try to pass you on the side.

Cetane Booster beneficial in a 7.3 idi?

Florida tags probably made it look like you were hauling a 'load'. HP would have pulled you over in Tennessee. They catch 'loads' through here all the time.

1983 F250 AC info needed, need to replace (frozen)

Part off of York compressor. Either check auto parts store like NAPA or check with a A/C supply big truck supply. Common valve. Has Ford part# on the side. Use your google-fu on edit: That is a RotoLock fitting. May be able to find at a commercial A/C parts store

    Slight "rattle" and tire wear

Yes they will rattle when worn out. May try tightening the bolts at the frame links. May want to add a steering link damper for that tire wear.
