    85 Drum Removal

There's a very real chance you have a Dana 70 axle as opposed to a Ford 10.25". 1985 was the year Ford changed from Dana axles to Ford axles on the heavy-duty pickups, so most early '85's have Dana 70's and late '85's have 10.25" axles. The hub on Dana axles doesn't stick out as far as on...

    DT360: The beginning

They didn't...AFAIK, Ford never made a crew-cab 4x4 DRW pickup between 1980 and 1997; IIRC the only DRW 4x4's Ford built in that timeframe were chassis-cab trucks with a single cab. It seems to me that it would be far easier to do a DRW conversion on a 4x4 than it would be to convert a 2WD to...

    1989 F350 dash

Do you want the dash chassis as well? Again, I'm not sure how practical it will be to ship them, but if we can figure it out, they're yours for the cost of shipping. I may have some other slant-nose interior parts; I'll have to look...

    1989 F350 dash

I'm not sure how practical shipping them will be...I tried to get a set of red door panels shipped from Florida a few years ago, and the seller said that shipping would cost a few hundred dollars  I don't know how hard he looked for a place to ship, though. The door panels are in my...

    1989 F350 dash

:rotflmao :rotflmao :rotflmao I had a feeling that that was going to be the answer :D Sounds like fun! ;Sweet I might be interested in the seats, but I'm not sure...I didn't get a good look at them. I have some back issues and want the truck to be set up for long-distance runs, so I'm going...

SF Bay Area GTG memorial day weekend.

That's what I normally do...I'm proud of the fact that I can get from highway speeds down to 15 mph without touching the brake pedal, and for that matter, I think that's why it took me a few years to even realize that my vacuum booster had died, and why I'm just living with it for now. But, I...

She’ll most certainly do it, although I think getting the brake booster swapped out first would be a good idea

That would be fun ;Sweet I need to get my truck finished, though :sly

    1989 F350 dash

No problem at all...I want one, but I'm thinking going new would be a good idea. BTW, if you come across a blue bricknose driver's side kick panel moulding and the insulation piece that goes under it in good shape, I could use that  ...and, again, I'm happy to stock up on any blue...

    1989 F350 dash

I don't blame you in the slightest LOL I've been less than gentle with a few g@$$er trucks myself! I'll pull it out either tonight or tomorrow, see what shape it's in, and see if anyone can make use of it. If so, great; if not, off it goes :D THANK YOU again!!! ;Sweet

    1989 F350 dash

IDIot, wanted to thank you again for the dashes! The "bad" one's in pretty good shape, and the "good" one...wow!! Looks like it just left the factory ;Sweet Quick question...one of them has a wiring harness out of a g@$$er. I'm going to separate the harness from the dash shell and let the...

SF Bay Area GTG memorial day weekend.

A big THANK YOU to towcat for hosting and putting this together! Great time, great food, great company ;Sweet It was nice to meet a few new people and see others again...for the first time in a long time, for one of them. I did a bit of editing with the pictures on my camera...I think these are...

    whats your oil pressure at???

For what it's worth, I've had a mechanical oil pressure gauge on my engine the entire time I've had the truck (14 years and 75K miles)...and, hot idle's always been at 10 PSI. Hot oil at cruise RPM is generally between 35 and 40 PSI. As others have said, they're low pressure, high volume...

    1989 F350 dash

Works for me ;Sweet would it be practical to hold onto this one until you have the other one pulled out, so if no one else bites before then I can just grab them both? Or do you want it gone ASAP, and just go back to bringing it on Sunday and I run out there to pick the other one up when it's...

has anyone done a OBS dash conversion in their brick nose?

Dumb question, but you know about the difference on the side "wind-wing" windows, right? Note the slightly different design, with the front end blunted instead of being pointy like the '80-'91 trucks have. If memory serves, Ford had to redesign the window with the corner cut off...

    1989 F350 dash

Sucks that you destroyed the driveshaft, but a beautiful thing that you had spares onhand ;Sweet :rotflmao :rotflmao :rotflmao I'm not a fan of earth-tone colors to begin with (in case it wasn't obvious, I didn't grow up in the '70's LOL ), and I spent 9 years staring at tan interiors...I...

    1989 F350 dash

:rotflmao I know what you mean...my extended-cab has a bordello-red interior. I prefer blue or gray, but I can live with the red...I'll take that over tan any day of the week LOL A board member who will go nameless taught me that you can't have too many spare parts

    1989 F350 dash

Oh, okay! If it's also blue, I'm fine with that. I'm in absolutely no hurry...my dash appears to be in good shape; I just wanted a spare to keep in storage. I definitely have no problem holding out for one in better condition ;Sweet

    value of conversion seats

I bought a front seat assembly out of a Centurion conversion for $300. The fabric's in better shape than yours, but the cushions left much to be desired, and they're not as fancy as yours. Given the pros and cons, my best guess is that these ought to sell for about the same price...maybe a bit...

    1989 F350 dash

What color is it? If it's blue, in good shape, and if you're coming down to the GTG next Sunday, I'll take it...bring it with you ;Sweet If it's not blue or if it's trashed, disregard.

now *THIS* is a smokin' kali deal.

The big round of registration increases applied more to newer vehicles...the vehicle license fee is based on the purchase price. My trucks are both about $275/year, with most of that being in weight fees...and my Jetta was $175 or so, without a weight fee, but the Jetta's also considerably newer...

    Lemon Cover

Don't feel too bad; it took me a minute to figure it out myself. I've spent most of my time around 6.9l's, which have the oil fill integrated into the "gear access cover". Actually, while I've been around some 7.3l's, I think this may be the first time I've seen a 7.3l gear access cover removed...
