    Dual Batteries

Maybe it was different in later years, but the '84 IDI E-350 I used to own had two batteries that were the same size, CCA, etc.

Need help with id on auxillary transmission

I would ask for further pictures, including a picture of either the OD unit itself or at least the shift button. I only see two pictures, and even with a magnifying glass, I can't make out the emblem under the factory emblems...

    In retrospect,,,,,,

'83 and early '84 trucks have the 6 O-ring oil coolers, and unless someone found an alternate source, the inner 4 O-rings are no longer available. Again, someone may have found a source, but I would suggest keeping your eyes out for a 4 O-ring oil cooler. Interesting side-note...when IH updated...

    1987 F350 6.9 4X4 Dually Centurion

I could be mistaken, but I think he was saying that he disliked the lack of compression braking with the C6 so much that he got a ZF5 so he could compression-brake. Certainly, I compression-brake with my ZF5 truck all the time and it works quite well...I can get from freeway speeds to 15 MPH...

A XJ named Guinea One - Kubota kit develpoment

Looks awesome!! ;Sweet I have to ask, though...looks like you're in the metropolitan Bay Area. IIRC the Cherokee was never available with a factory diesel in the U.S., so how are you going to handle titling/smog issues? Looking forward to seeing this happen ;Sweet

    Old diesel car

After the nuclear holocaust, there'll be two things left in this world...cockroaches and Mercedes diesels ;Sweet The 1985 and older cast-iron M-B diesels are loud and underpowered, but they're about the most reliable engines you'll ever see. If the rest of the car has been kept up (front...

    Think im done boys...12v time..

As was already noted, the Conversion section on OB is worth the time. Also, if you're on Facebook, look for a group called "Fummins Tech"...there's some very good conversion info on there ;Sweet Smile when you say that, boy!! :backoff :fight: :rotflmao

i find your lack of smoke, disturbing.

Wait, is the torque cam installed on this engine or not installed? If you're making the same power without smoke, that's actually a good thing ;Sweet black smoke is just unburnt fuel...so, less black smoke and the same power means a more efficient engine ;Sweet

    Orange Screen Warning

For what it's worth, I'm getting the same warning, and it's not Microsoft related. I'm getting the warning on both FireFox and Chrome, running Ubuntu 16.04.

    WHAT IS THIS BOX??

Sounds about right! My ex graduated from North High in 2001. All I can say about her is, you can take the girl out of the trailer park, but you can't take the trailer park out of the girl  :puke:

    WHAT IS THIS BOX??

Way back when, I dated someone from Oildale, and as such spent more time there than I care to think about...all I can say is, that sounds about right. And, my sincerest condolences  That's a possibility; be interesting to see what wires are leading to it...

do you take your IDI on long trips?

The last time I did a long-distance run in a personal vehicle, it was in my truck ;Sweet Bay Area to Seattle and back in 2006. Truck didn't skip a beat. Even with the rust being as bad as it is now, I wouldn't hesitate to take my truck on a long distance run... In the parking lot at a Mt...

    87 Crew Cab w/ 6 doors

IIRC if it's a private vehicle (i.e. not a for-hire charter van, school van, church van, etc), you can legally carry 15 people without a CDL. However, if it's on a for-hire basis, the magic number becomes 10...more than 10 people and you need a CDL with pax endorsement.

    6.9 or 7.3 swap '81 F350

Will a T-19 bellhousing bolt to a T-18? Also, IIRC '80-'82 trucks had mechanical linkage clutches, so if you were able to bolt the diesel bellhousing into place, you'll also need to convert to a hydraulic clutch release.

getting sick and tired of this critter.

That's the greaseable throw-out bearing I found...I bought it hoping against hope that it could be made to work with the ZF5, but there's no way. It's T-19 only, and I was under the impression that it's no longer available in any event. You can tell the difference here: Old T-19 throw-out...

    Dash peice

Is the "wood grain" in good shape? If the OP doesn't take them, I might be interested. I think the only all-black trim pieces with the diesel "message center" were for F-450's. I've seen them, but they aren't very common. If it's the slats I'm thinking of, I think they're meant to hold coins...

    Speaker sizes

I've never seen factory rear speakers on slant-nose or brick-nose trucks, but I've seen factory rear speakers on XLT OBS trucks with all three cab styles. On Regular-Cab/Crew-Cab trucks, the speakers mount directly to the rear quarter trim plastic; on Super-Cabs, the speakers mount higher up and...

    Speaker sizes

I can vouch for that setup...unless you're going to be going into competition stereo systems, it'll do an amazing job of filling your truck cab up with sound ;Sweet I'm planning to do this on my truck! I've been toying with the idea of putting a set of 6x9's in the rear doors to complement the...

Cruiseomatic You're lucky that I've been so busy I haven't had time to make a dump run! The bad news is that the stuff has been sitting in my truck bed exposed to the elements for almost 5 months now. I don't know what condition any of it's in anymore, and it may not be worth sending. I know...
