'87 6.9's had the same ZF5 (+ or - a ratio change) as '88-'94 7.3 IDI's Just grab any kit for ZF5 IDI. Heath- hesutton

Your metering valve is sticking on your injection pump. That's what is causing the stall after you decelerate. ATF trick may give you some more time, but it's borrowed time. Plan on a new IP and injectors in the not to distance future. ATF in the master cylinder... Now I've seen it...- hesutton

10.25 LSD rebuild
Amen to that. I ditched the stock LS for a TruTrac on the F250 years ago. Works better for me than the LS did. It will bark the tires occasionally on tight turns, but not enough to be a problem. Heath- hesutton

This was what I was going to type as well. Just normal when the engine is cold. If all the components are working correctly, there is a solenoid to bump the throttle lever to increase the idle RPM and also one to advance the timing until it is warm. Other thing to keep in mind is you don't have to stay the whole time. Most guys call and change the arrival and departure dates on their reservation based on their schedule. Some come for a couple of days. Some stay longer than the group. Totally up to you. As far as timing.... don't know...- hesutton

Body mount bushing improvements?
I used Energy Suspension's bushings on my '86 crew cab. Pulling the old mount apart was really fun.:frustrate But it made the cab and bed alignment normal again. There is less wobble over rough stuff, but the ride was not harsh. Heath- hesutton

Glad to hear you got it going. Now to find out what happened.... I always have a can of starting fluid behind the seat just in case. Not a fan of using it routinely, but in a case like yours, you bet your butt I'd use it. Heath- hesutton

7.3 idi coolant issues
I'd do a used oil analysis (with Blackstone or other oil lab) before I'd start a head gasket job. If you have a bad gasket you will see some coolant contamination on the oil analysis. Rarely, is there enough coolant contamination to make your oil grey or have coolant in the pan, but will be...- hesutton
