Update: Used the schematic to trace all the way back to the cluster (shoulda started there :dunno), oh well. I pulled the tach from the cluster, fired up the truck and used the voltmeter to see what I had. There are 3 pins for the tach gauge: ground, 12 volts and one that varies with use...- iverger

Anyone have a wiring diagram for an 89 with E4OD? My tach only works once the truck has warmed up for a while. It started after I pulled the cluster to fix the volt gauge. I pulled the cluster again and cleaned up the connections but that only made it worse, takes longer now. Could be...- iverger

12,000 lbs of 5 th wheel trailer
Have to add my 0.02. I've pulled quite a few big loads across SK, AB and BC, mostly b-trains so obviously not with my F350. The never ending saga of my 6.9
I just cured mine of the sputter and die after startup by installing a new return line kit ($30). Another possibility may be air getting in somewhere like a pickup tube. Does the sputter happen on both tanks? Not sure about the rest, injectors, injection pump, and again air intrusion are all...- iverger

Speedometer gear for 3.08
91F2504X4 posted this earlier, which only leaves you one more (16 teeth - Wine). Based on your results with the 18 and 17, it doesn't sound like 16 will be low enough though. These colors refer to the cable end and not the gear on the tailshaft of your trans. Manual Transmissions...- iverger

bought a powerstroke yesterday
Learned something the hard way on my son's 99 PSD/Automatic that you may know already but just in case. Apparently in 99 Ford decided to install a pressure check valve on the trans cooler to help it warm up in the mornings. The valve bypasses the cooler when the oil is cold (higher pressure)...- iverger

E40D TC Lock/Unlock question
My torque converter works fine during upshifts but I don't think it is acting right when coasting. No matter how fast I'm traveling the TC always unlocks when I lift of the pedal.
