Sorry, I meant to say there isn't a synchronized non granny low tranny used with the big trucks. Personally I define anything over 4:1 as a granny low.

Ok, looks like I was wrong on the T-19 not bein' syncro'd in reverse.
So how 'bout this?
T-18 used behind the gassers from '80?-'92 with code F.
T-19 used behind the diesels from '84?-'87 with code P. (replaced in '88 with the ZF).

The T-18 (non syncro first/reverse) and T-19 (syncro first/reverse) share the same ratios. There isn't a syncro non creeper used with anything other than a 302 (SROD/TOD) in a truck.
So I suggest you ignore the missinfo from "another site", and settle in for the straight info here ;Sweet...
Yup, only reason to lock out overdrive is if the tranny is hunting back and fourth between 3rd and 4th. If it holds in OD, leave it be and save the fuel.

Love the 351HO in the '84 with the four barrel holley 600. The '93 will be the second 351 in the fleet. Even the EFI version is purdy simple and easy to work on.

No doubt.
Got a rust free bumper fer cheep from this truck last time. Pretty sure it still had it's 1356. There was a '92 there also 4x4.
It's like a ford truck fantasy land up in the warehouse.

Hey man thats awesome fer both pics! Crazy license plates ya got there.
Get a pic of it squashin' a mini cooper or somethin'.
There are two british guys over on f150online with ford trucks, maybe they are nearby, i'll get ya the contact info.

Chances are yer's is just rusted up. The 88-'91 use an exposed lever arm that will lock up if not used regularly. On the '88, I couldn't get in to N or 4L at all.
Just gonna copy and paste from somethin' I had posted on FSB.
Success!
Got the dang thing out. Had locktight on it with...
Ujoints don't look like this do they?
I got lucky it was only the two on the driveshaft that needed replaced, but ya got 3 others up in that TTB that could clunk around too.
Adrianspeeder
The 1356 is known to spin it's pump and then the whole thing turns into our old calc tests, but it isn't too bad to rebuild. I know Curve over at the parts barn gotta '92 4x4 in, so see what he wants for the case.
Another possibility is the shifter linkage cylinder thinger got messed up too...
Yeah it was crazy frozen snow today, but still made a lot thankfully doin' driveways.
Sorry to hear the body damage. I got the diesel high centered on a drift off a plowed road to a non plowed road and had to rock back and forth 'till the front end bit.

Well, looks like I gotta play relay service again as Sam finishes up her move back home to Florida and gets her internet fixed up.
Her '86 IDI got trailered down and started up fine to get on the trailer, but was completely dead electrically a few hours later when it was time to get off the...
