Classic - The problem was a bad frame ground. No issues after I cleaned and retightened it. Learned a lot about electronics in the process to get here, and went so far as to buy a few of the 1986 shop manuals from eBay. I prefer print copies. One of the books had a brochure leaflet in the pages.

So if I conduct a voltage drop test between the battery’s ground and somewhere through one of these circuits, then no matter where I am in that circuit, I should be using the positive multimeter probe to trace out the circuit up through the fuse box, to positive side of the Load, then...

Alright so here’s the flip side of these parts of the project, lol - the new problem is a show stopper (right now). Electrical woes get all of us at one point or another, and for me that time is now. The motor won’t turn over. The headlamps don’t turn on. The gauge cluster lights turn on when...

Back when I bought the banks Gen 1 turbo kit for this truck, the guy threw in front end cosmetics and a bunch of other parts that I showed you earlier in the thread. I mounted them this past weekend and I think the truck looks a lot better with them, even if they’re kind of busted. These are...

Yep - this is a high priority. I’ve been looking for just the injector clamps for the Van’s injector lines but not much luck in finding stand alone clamps that are Van specific. The rub happens when compared to the truck injector lines, I think injector line#4 and one other line differ.

Thanks for the quick response - Routing paths are flexible. The filter head line must be hooked up to one of the fuel rail banks I’m Still wondering why I did not see any fuel coming out of the fuel rail

1986 F250 with 89 van 7.3 swapped in. I have confusion about the fuel return system - I thought I understood it. Running R&D fuel rails, R&D 80cc pump. I need help figuring out the best way to run the return lines. Here’s what I currently have. My reason for asking is that I have confusion...

Got it running on 7 cylinders, long enough to hear it run for a minute. While running, I found the loose injector line that was causing a miss and tightened it up. Air intrusion made starting the truck back up real hard and it wouldn’t start despite catching a few times. None of my return is...

Longer cranking intervals are the answer here. I’ve Gone up to 10-20 seconds of cranking with a long break in between and some injectors are starting to get fuel now

Problem: Installed New R&D pump, R&D fuel rails, and Facet 40290, but no fuel to injectors. Context & Troubleshooting: Using twice filtered clean fuel so it’s not blocking the IP inlet filter screen. Besides Fuel shutoff solenoid, What would cause fuel to not flow through IP? I am getting...

Supply fuel line from fuel filter housing to injection pump

I had the same concerns, and was going to comment that I even tried with a propane torch. I did damage my lip a bit. Soft brass and. With the propane, I think I made it a couple of seconds in before I said “forget this, I’m going to run russ’s delete kit.!” I’m much happier with the AN...

Supply fuel line from fuel filter housing to injection pump

my experience in this shows that a flared end will not seat against anything but another complimenting flared end, even with a kind of thread tape or o ring/gasket. It’d be a miracle if you didn’t have a consistent drip.

Supply fuel line from fuel filter housing to injection pump

Getting the old rubber out is darn near impossible to do old my hard lines. I Bought new fuel olives only to find out that the old rubber will fight tooth and nail only to come out in difficult pieces. it can be hard to clear the original fuel olives out

RD2-80cc pump is mounted. Thanks Justin. The fuel rails have been as interesting as I expected. I’m going to try a new approach with the passenger bank. 1. With the injectors removed from the engine, gently plug each injector into the fuel rail 2. Similar to an injector thread protector...

Are you saying that the pump I have here is a factory reman pump? I don’t know how the world of reman works, but I wonder if that means it came from older tractor cores (older than this 1989 van 7.3). That would be cool. I’m told that the whole truck has 270k miles, but I know that the motor...

Pulled the old pump off last night I’ll clean it up and inspect it before sending it off to Justin as a core.

Thanks. I’ve bought a DTI timing kit so I expect to get it dialed in. Anyways, here’s the pump!

    Ray-Wel High Flow Intake System?

No sir, this truck showed up with a 6.9 and a T19. I grabbed the T19 and bellhousing to keep as a spare. The hood was in incredible condition. I may be going back for it and the fenders, as I need one the driver side

    Ray-Wel High Flow Intake System?

A reduction in smoke could be an interesting test. I’m putting an R&D IDI RD2-80 pump onto my 89 7.3 n/a van motor, and I don’t have a turbo for the engine at the moment. It’s in the works. A new kit is obscenely expensive and they’re only going up - I’m thinking about using the same amount of...

I agree, I’d like to have this top renewed & restored with new paint. It’s a nice looking cap.

I bought Justin’s remaining RD2-80cc from this run. There are a few N/A pumps remaining as of this post. I have a question: I’ll be running this RD2-80cc pump on an N/A truck, until I can turbo and stud the heads. If I keep my foot out of it and pump screw turned down, Will I run into any...

    Ray-Wel High Flow Intake System?

Reviving this thread because I found this: There’s a Dyno tuner around the corner. It would be a fun test to answer the question of how does this air cleaner impact wheel numbers.
