"Tank" my 91 Crew Cab Dually

Beautiful battery cable work. I already fixed my original cables but now I will have to redo my work. I was in a hurry when I did it the first time anyway. And I want 31 batterys too.

Rebuilt E4OD 800 miles ago now having problems

You should have some sort of reading. 20 mv is about average. I've never seen less than 10mv. 50 is supposed to be the upper limit. More than that usually messes with the electronics. Or mabye you have really good diodes in your alternator.

    Powermaster 9050/9051

I live close to powermaster and bought a starter for another car from them. They were very helpful and showed me around. Saw starters and alternators being built and tested. Every starter I saw them test was good. If I ever need another starter I will get it from them.

    Diego Revisited

I worked at oreillys last summer and I saw this same thing. Someone else was selling one of these alternators and it was the smaller one marked as the big one. The customer bought it anyway. There must be a lot of the small alternators being sold as the large ones. Doesn't seem to matter where...

    Air conditioning interchange

5.0 fits also. I swapped the entire system from a f150 to my 92 with serpentine. Some rangers will also fit from a v6 but the electrical connector is clocked different. I had to swap out my compressor and that was all I could find at the time. Wire will be tight but it fits.

    Serpentine belt conversion

I did the same addition of ac on my 92. The 5.0 and 5.8 ac bolts right on to the diesel engine. Only change I made was to angle the metal pipes at the compressor to fit better. And no 134a conversion problems.

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

The controller grounds the white wire to turn on the relay. To make it manual you connect to the post for the white wire and run it to a push button and connect the other side of the button to ground.

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

I have been planning to make the glowplugs work auto or manual. The diagram is what I want to do. It only requires cutting the white wire and connecting the switch I to the circuit. This way I can choose which way I want the glow plugs to work.

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

I kept mine on the battery at least 10 to 15 seconds. I wanted to make sure it would work and survive. Also my controller currently keeps them on 20 to 25 seconds in the morning. It's still the original controller. I've considered making it manual because it runs the plugs even when the engine...

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

Yes I just clamped the glow plug in the vicegrip and touched it across the battery terminals. Tip on positive and the thumb screw on negative. Sorry about the bad picture. I didn't realize it was bad til I was posting it. I wanted to test them before installing them because I don't want to take...

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

I had some glow plug problems. Tested with a test light and they showed good. But a few starts later they were dead. I tested them again with a Vicegrip across the battery terminals. It's easy to see which ones work.

Zd29s vs Zd9s...for the inquiring mind...

I bought 4 of the zd29 from rock auto I installed 3 of them over a month ago and they seem to be fine. They say zd29 and e2510061143 10.5v. They do not say beru on them. I guess I'll see how long they last. The truck starts great no problems. 2 years ago I replaced 4 on the driver side because...

    Slightly bent rim

I've had a few wheels like that. I just used a hammer to straighten them. If you are careful you can get it straight. That might fix the leak.

Sounds like your fuel pump is getting weak or it is pulling in air from somewhere

what is this wire called on the Water in Fuel sensor? Part #?

That is for the fuel filter light. It is a pressure sensor for when the filter gets clogged.

Project Thread: 89 F250 Franken Truck

Other cars you could look for are the Buick Olds and Cadillac fwd cars especially v8 cars. They didn't have room for the battery under the hood so they used a junction block and put the battery under the back seat. Only difference is they are side terminal but it is basically a gigantic ring...
