might want to rig up a pressure gauge on the filter head fairly easily done if eliminate the return to filter line from the injector just under the filter ( i like to use a boost vacuum gauge cheap on ebay for like $15 ) and watch it as you load the engine this will tell you if you get a plugged...- CBRF3

Strange humming noise coming from valley pan/bell housing vicinity
You might want to check your lifters early ones didn't have needle roller bearings they had a brass bushing that would fail and then all kind of howling whining noise would occur and if not addressed quick would destroy the cam- CBRF3

The issue with just 2 stroke oil is lack of detergents hince why if go the 2 stroke oil route i suggest doing my blend i linked and explained before as it gives the best of both worlds and i dialed in over a 15+yr span on many of these engines / trucks and around 1 million miles or more...- CBRF3

Very true but I was only trying to say try to mitigate the risk hydraulic fluid offers almost same thing as transmission fluid or even using power steering fluid would be a good alternative and these could avoid the problem / risk rather than using transmission fluid as it could very well cause...- CBRF3

I used to do the ATF thing but got pulled over and DOT tried to say i had farm / offroad diesel in my tanks years ago they tried to fine me like $1500 and threatened me with upto 10yrs in prison and held me at the weigh station for nearly 16hrs till test results came back and i was handcuffed...- CBRF3

Intercooled, now having heat issues
