Lets see now, Thursday is a trip to Springfield, Oregon to Sky's off road design to pick up a different track bar and some "High Steer" components that will put the tie rod, Drag link and the track bar close to horizontal to reduce/eliminate bump steer.
After that I have to fab linkage for the...
Yeah. That probably is it. I did a real quick look and about $2500 plus. . . .
That was enough to make me stop looking for now.
Considering everything else that has already been done or is in the works, another $2500 is not a scary number, looking at the entire disaster. The wife told me I have...
The bumper I am looking at is made in Prineville, Ore.
The name of the outfit, I believe is "Truckstop". (?)
Bring a chunk of change.
Neighbor down the road has one and not a lightweight toy.
I am currently fighting other battles and the bumper is awhile away currently.
My biggest desire might be to insulate surrounding components from the heat emitted from the turbo.
Now to see if I can remember where I saw them awhile ago,
Arr-e-gun?
Land of the pasteurized water.
It flows from pasture to Pasture.
What about that UFO that comes out once a year?
Called the Sun.
Any chances of reusing the old pan?
I would use the gray oil pan RTV as a good sealer.
Supposedly those gaskets were supposed to be back in production...
Yeah, my foot is getting sore, I keep shooting it.
7.3 idiT. in a 02/94 F350 CC Duallie.
Advisability of wrapping the turbo in a blanket? The down pipe should get wrapped but not enough room.
Well, I was going down the road a few days ago, spotted a near identical truck, got turned around and followed it long enough to see that his, while raised up, is only running the sway bar.
Think I will go with that only at this time, when it gets assembled.
I was hoping just to lift the truck, "some". That some being about 2, maybe 4 inches. I suspect this is going to be somewhere between 6 and 8 inches. I suppose the running boards are going to get used some. I currently have an email into Skysoffroaddesign in Eugene, Ore and waiting a response...
Makes sense, Biggest reason I can see for a track bar is the bushings in the ends of the springs would take more of a beating on sideways movement as the suspension went up and down.
Fun part is to come because I have to get this truck on the ground and find out where level is after I install...
I appreciate the in info. This is my first rodeo with raising up a vehicle. My young wife who will be 70 in May, gotta love it, say's on one hand, 'I don't wan't the truck raised'. Then on the other hand say's, this morning, " It would be nice to have it raised up above econoboxes".
At this...
I have seen both schools of thought and am curious as to what other folks have done.
Your signature block "Totaled by a Dodge" is a warning to myself and others as to why Haggerty insurance might be warranted.
So, in the process of putting this toy together with some '03, 3 link Superduty springs and trying to get the track bar installed.
Now according to Skys off road Design, the track bar is supposed to be level with the front axle. When I do that the track bar is about 8-1/2 inches below the...
Most of your engine wear occurs at start up.
Pre~filled filter reduces the amount of time the engine is without oil pressure.
Start it empty and new engine bearing might not rattle too much as thy spin around void of lubrication warm or cold as the filter fills with oil.
A few times of doing...
Your's is shiny and pretty. Mine has gotten to the point of just needing it back on the road and now working on this toy outside in a tent. 18 degrees yesterday, 26 this morning and currently at 30 this afternoon. Rains return late Saturday and warmer temps also will come along.
The best part...
So, just for you, I braved the 21 degree weather and the snow on the ground as I ventured out to my 02/94 F350. Open the glove box, push the two stops on the sides in towards the center. They might even have black rubber bumpers around them. Once those are out, the box itself just flops out.
Well, when your a one man show you try to find easier ways to do things. I got to find out the bolt head on top of the 2003 Super Duty spring pack was a bit larger than the '93 Dana 60 U-bolt top bracket hole. A 13/16 drill bit arrived today and once the weather gets out of the 21 degree range...
Buying a rebuilt engine might be an option.
If your capable of an R&R, then this might be a good option.
Promar in New Jersey does a good job and I can recommend them as a supplier for a rebuilt unit.
That would get your 6.9 back into it. The 7.3 turbo could make you happier with acceleration...
Well the weather is warming and the snow has gone in Orygun for the most part. At least in my area for the next few days. The 02'94 7.3 idi T crewcab dually is in the process once more of a drive train installation with the Eaton e-Locker Dana 60 front axle and the Allison 6 speed along with a...
I have an '86 with the 4X4 just outside Portland Ore that should be looking for a new home later this year. The way the other is NOT going, it might be awhile.
I used to have an E4OD. I have found that a lot of problems can be traced back to a faulty range selector switch. You may also want to chase down the 6 grounds and clean those up. Wire brush and a dab of grease.
