@Martin0759 Been eyeing this one, but I can't afford it. Figure I'd pass it along.

Should be able to ground it anywhere you get a solid connection. If the run/license lights don't run after, give them their own ground.

Go to Documentation on the top
Then Electrical
Then EVTM
Then you'll see the EVTM for 1986 or 1996, either one...
My white smoke issues have all been related to injectors. Swapping them out largely cured it, still have one sticking a bit, but not getting the white clouds of acrid smoke like I was prior. Should be noted I am rebuilding them myself because I'd like to know how to since I'll be running 100%...
I have a LUK 07225 kit on mine. Had a bit of rollover noise so I took off the shift stub and overfilled it by a quart or so as many posts advised to do. No noticeable noise now.
This is in an 86 6.9
I was having trouble bleeding my clutch after doing my swap. Another member here, I cannot recall who, posted about propping a stick to press the clutch pedal down for a day or three. That worked for mine, well too since I was still working on other parts of the truck.
Used ones available on ebay for $200ish
Midwest Trans has a short throw kit available, gotta call for pricing

@John_piv You've got a weird one. I just took the shifter stub off of one of my 4 ZF5s, pic attached. Angle of yours is all wrong, no idea what that is from. Possibly modified for a custom stick.
I did not see a manual pedal assembly in your list, don't forget that. Do the heim joint mod as well. You'll need a different floor pan if you go ZF5. For my ZF5 swap I was able to use the C6 crossmember and moved it back, there were already holes drilled if I remember correctly.
Mine took less than 10 minutes to get in there using a normal floor jack. Raise the back up as far as it'll go, I used 6 ton jacks on wooden platforms.
I removed the transmission crossmember
Used two long pieces of all thread on the bottom bolts as guides
I marked a tooth of one of the top...
@JSVD During your swap also take a look at the condition of your clutch pedal linkage and consider doing the heim joint upgrade
Also take a look at the firewall for flexing/cracking where the pedal mounts, it is known for being a weak point.
Getting the entire truck? Driveshafts could be an issue depending on wheelbase differences. Floor pan for trans is different between T19 and ZF5, use the newer one.
Need to get my front axle sorted out before I swap it over. 2005+ steering gear is a bolt on swap if you're doing an axle swap. Might need to modify pitman arm if you're not doing axle swap. May require a bit of hose work, I can tell you when I'm done.
Did a ton of research since posting this thread.
Ended up with a 2005 F250 2wd rolling chassis. Will be using the rear axle, wheels, and steering gear from it. Also took all of the bracketry I needed off, specifically the radius arm mounts and coil buckets, since they are the same between the...
@hesutton I have a US gear underdrive as well, not setup for ZF5 though. Would you still recommend it with 3.73 or 4.10 gears or would you rather have an overdrive then?
