    1994 starter

When you say you are going across post which ones are you going across. You should be going across the terminal that the battery cable connects to and the small terminal. If you are going across to the terminal that goes into the starter that is all it will do; spin it will not throw out the...

Trailered home a 1989 F350 dump truck that looks great on the outside, but the 7.3 IDI is something else

Not sure I would put a locker in the front end. This is based on a Steiger tractor that I have with a locker in the front. Great in the summer but when it get's slick in the fall it becomes a real bear to turn. Wants to go straight ahead even when turned to the limit. Might want to do some asking.

    Remote Fuel Filter Recommendation?

I would agree, for the 15-20 you will have R-Ring the unit to do the other work I can not see where you gain anything moving the filter and then investing in new lines etc. If it is not broke don't fix it.

Massive voltage drop when attempting to start; new batteries

The problem with testing just looking at resistance is most ohm meters we can get our hands on just are not sensitive enough. When you are talking several hundred amps starter draw it does not take much in the way of resistance to create large voltage drops. I have even tested for large voltage...

Massive voltage drop when attempting to start; new batteries

As was said a voltmeter or test light and a few quick test will get you headed in the correct direction. Lots of could be's right at the moment. Depends on how much money you want to spend and if you want to be a parts changer or actually fix the issue.

    Before I buy injection pump....

The light does not pass enough current to all the solenoid to operate. Does show though that there is continuity though the solenoid to ground. This is assuming that the test light is in a series.

Thinking of making a reusable oil filter from stainless steel sanitary pipe, fishing for your thoughts.

Would it be reusable at that point or are you going to have to install new caps each time? Would seem to me you are headed towards a cartridge style filter. If you have to replace end caps and filter element each time what are you gaining? If you are suggesting trying to wash out the element...

Can’t fully push in clutch pedal all of a sudden

I wonder if the compensator port in the master cylinder is blocked. How much free play do you have a the pedal before the rod into the master cylinder starts to move. Might try cracking the bleeder and see if you get full travel for a stroke or two. Probably not the issue but something not often...

Original OE Starter Woes... getting tired

They also make small magnetic heaters which are OK but you do have to crawl under to stick onto pan. Also work on metal fuel tanks if you are worried about gelling until the fuel that is returning to the tank gets warm enough to prevent that.

Original OE Starter Woes... getting tired

You will have to do something different at the starter for the battery cable as the terminal is in a different location. The bolt is not that big of a deal. A wobble extension will get it out. #4 Heard of Murphy?

Hard Start - Glow Plugs / Air Intrusion Help!

Were are you getting you plugs? The first set of Motorcraft I got off EBay was a mistake as they did not like to play with the factory controller. Found out they were fakes. The second set I got from O'Reilly and they were OEM plugs. With some searching on the net I discovered that the OEM...

"Prime" the fuel system before starting?

Josh an interesting theory. Do you think the pressure just drops to zero or do you also believe the line drains between pump and injector? My owners manual has this to say about starting. Temp above 32 f depress accelerator pedal 1/2 way and hold. Temp below 32 f depress accelerator fully and...

Milwaukee Battery to Run IP / Wiring ?

How often do you for see actually having to do this? If just a back up for someday just in case I think I would just run a couple of wires out to the pump and if the need came up just connect them up at the time. If the ends are all ready on everything it would take less then a minute to pop the...
