    Battleborn Brakes Master Cylinder

All bs aside, I can't extol military service for young folks enough. I stumbled into it on a whim, and came out at the other end something completely different, with skills and perspective that served me well through the last 50 years. In retrospect that crossroads was far more critical than I...

    Battleborn Brakes Master Cylinder

Thanks bro. No offense taken. I knew it would fit , I matched it up to the hydro unit. I was just concerned about the extra pressure that will be exerted by the 1800psi PS pump compared to the -5lbs vacuum system. Had visions of coming to a stop and blowing the master cylinder apart, just before...

    Battleborn Brakes Master Cylinder

Uh, yeah, about that. After much gnashing of teeth and other turmoil I finally had to take the most drastic measure, and read the directions. Wow, what a revelation. The OEM one will work just fine. Sometimes I wish I could just delete a post.

So what did you do with your truck today?

It took several months longer to get the garage ready, but finally have a dry heated place for the winter project. Hydroboost conversion started, '04 SD axles swap, RS kits, and wiring, and paint prep.

    Battleborn Brakes Master Cylinder

Anyone know what master brake cylinder fits the battleborn brakes kit? My OEM vacuum assist looks like it will bolt on, but I'm worried about it going ***** with the increased pressure. I'm tempted to email him, but he's selling MC's, and is obviously keeping that info to himself, which is...

    New age headlights

I seriously considered getting a goldfish for a '89 F150 that had a hole about 1/3 from the bottom, but then wondered if I'd get a ticket for cruelty to animals by some tree hugger cop and chickened out..

Anyone use Marine Deep Cycle AGM Batteries?

I filled that area up with a AL frame to hold the relays for the Holly red, the Racor 500 filter/separator/fuel heater, and future power running board relays. I'm thinking about making a hinged upper level platform for the charger. The Racor clone is mounted to the side. Had to yank the OEM...

Anyone use Marine Deep Cycle AGM Batteries?

It's beyond parasitic for some. My daily driver is a Laramie longhorn ecodiesel. Among the extra bells and whistles are factory air bags, four different ride heights, and an automatic one at freeway speed that tilts the truck for the best aerodynamics based on wind tunnel tests. It's nice when I...

    IDI E Fuel pump Info

Appreciate the time you took to organize your post. Well Done. As for the Reds, I can't prove it because I haven't had mine long enough for it to fail, but I'm thinking it has something to do with the internal regulator on those. They make a different sound when feeding a IP compared to when...

Anyone use Marine Deep Cycle AGM Batteries?

Agreed. I just went with Duralast, they 850CCA and got them for under $150 each. Turned out to be multiple issues. There is a parasitic draw with the key off of .03 amps. Also, the accessory wire off the battery had some corrosion at the relay lug which caused an intermittent open under load...

Anyone use Marine Deep Cycle AGM Batteries?

I do like the 16vdc output, will definitely get a few extra rpm's out of the starter. Caps are great for instantaneous high out discharge, but not so great for storage, so would need the cap in addition to power storage for random stuff like listening to music when stopped, etc.. This truck will...

Anyone use Marine Deep Cycle AGM Batteries?

As the title says, I'm wondering if anyone has had success using AGM marine deep cycle batteries? I had to leave the C350 project sit longer than anticipated, and I didn't bother to disconnect the batteries, or plug in the Norco dual charger because I had a good excuse not to, and now am...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Spent a couple hours beating off. Oh baby baby, almost there... The small dimples were an air impact on 150psi/3/8" line, quarter size flat round chuck. Big dimples were 2 1/5lb sledge hammers, it took three of 'em. Broke two different handles off after about an hour. Emptied full can of...

    Sky's Offroad RS Kit's Problem

    Sky's Offroad RS Kit's Problem

Just confirmed, the front RSK fits 99-04. There were a few salvage yards that went out and checked every single 8-16 F and E rig they had. Trying not to laugh..

    Sky's Offroad RS Kit's Problem

I've been babbling on about a C350 build on here for the last couple years. I am finally very close to having the rest of the parts for a 04 SD axle swap. I got some Sky's products, including 85-91 Ford F-250 / F-350 2" Front Shackle Reversal SUPER DUTY AXLE CONVERSION kit. The instructions...

    Trouble shooting new brake system

Yes, the '03 F250 one were not stored well at all. They were left out in back of the guys place uncovered for at least two years. Everything was rusted, would have taken full axle rebuild, new bearings, hubs, all brake components, and all new lines. The parts would have cost over $2k, not...

    Trouble shooting new brake system

Good to hear that, I'm glad you didn't suffer a catastrophic failure in the process and get into a wreck. I got a response from BBB today, they confirmed the '99-'04 master cylinder does have a larger bore than the OBS disk/drum systems, and are definitely required to push enough volume to...

    Battle Born Brakes

Life happens and plans change. I had originally planned on piecing together a hydroboost conversion after the $950 - $1700 sticker shock for the kits available. Just discovered Battle Born Brakes. They have a complete kit that uses the OEM reservoir and PS pump. It includes some stainless hoses...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Let me know. It even comes with a new stock torque converter. I'll let it go pretty cheap.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I think I'm going to wind up scrapping mine. Have all new steels and frictions, all new bearings, stage 1 shift kit, and new stock converter. I already had it rebuilt when I got a screaming deal in the zf. I wanted the OD any way I could get it.

    Rock Auto, scam on shipping?

No, but the same approximate quality level. One note, the RA quote did include powder coated calipers, which serves absolutely no purpose other than to pretend to be something they are not. It was either that or red rattle can...lmao..
