    and here you are trying to convince us you're not a goon LOL :cheers: Is a strap wrench not sufficient to get these filters off? I have a chain wrench and a "Belt Wrench" that I use if they get really really stuck but ive never needed anything except a big filter strap wrench.

    I Believe the meter reads RPM off the crank balancer so that suggests that your probe is working fine. It would then correlate the RPM reading with the injector pulse to provide degree offset. I was also wondering, how do you know which way to adjust the IP to adjust timing? My meter read 4.5...

    Yeah ive been reading some reviews, seems that they used to be of good quality but are now (as in within the last 5-10 yrs) hit or miss. Some last forever, others fail within 100 miles. Well this is a NOS that I got for 20$. Guess i'll keep it on the shelf as a just in case part.

    I think the F59HS is for our E4ODs except that it is the high stall version for the big gas motors, whereas the ones specc'd for the 7.3 is a low stall, although from what I have also read is that the Ideal stall for our TCs is around 1800 and the ones im looking at are 2000, so maybe thats good...

    Cross referencing the numbers off rockauto shows the TC sizes and spline counts to be identical for the F59HS. Rockauto lists part# F59DO (close but not exact) and lists "Low Stall". other sites list the F59HS as having 2000RPM stall. HD3686HS is listed as a "High Stall" TC but seems otherwise...

    Yeah that is interesting and kind of what I was wondering by finding that part. I wouldnt be surprised if the previous owner never installed it considering the pulley worked fine for a while without it.     I dont think so, the shoulder is just shy of the end of the bearing and I am concerned that if I space it out, the bearing will wobble and break something. Also - I cant find a washer that fits it. Will likely have to machine something custom.

    Motorcraft or Beru (the manufacturer for Motorcraft) can be bought from rockauto.com as well. You may want to also check with your local parts store, most of the good ones (Napa or Carquest) can get you almost any brand if you ask for them.

    I figured the stock IP would be capable once tuned up according to typ4's instructions (was it typ4 or rus? I dont recall who made that sticky). Wasnt he able to get upwards of 130 out of a worn out stock IP?
