yet another E4od issue...trans shop stumped!

Do you know what torque converter is in the transmission and what fluid they put in it? Also - what was the outcome of adjusting your FIPL?

    Really wishing I had a zf5...TPS sensor.

VSS is the Vehicle speed sensor. The E4OD uses it to calculate shift points and I believe it will influence the shift into overdrive which would probably be at the range you are talking about. It is cheap, supposed to be replaced regularly, located on top of the rear meatball. CPS or Cam...

    Really wishing I had a zf5...TPS sensor.

Have you checked the VSS and the CPS (Or whichever that big chunky one on the timing cover is called?

Did I kill my jump pack, or my battery, or both?

Something to keep in mind with those smart chargers. If the battery is low enough, they will return an error and refuse to charge it. Alternatively, the older non "Smart" chargers tend not to have maintainer logic and can overcharge batteries if you dont keep an eye on them. Theres an older...

    F-Superduty 4x4 Identification

How does the Dana 70 stack up against the KP D60? That truck must be an absolute tank.

    Plow frames (years)

Interesting. I bought an old style plow frame and mounted it to my 94 F250 and now my 94 F-SuperDuty. I believe it is an older fisher speedcaster plow. Absolute pain in the rear to mount, have to lift the nose, unbolt the front leaf spring shackles and shock towers. Plow frame slides in on the...

    E4OD TC engagement

I wired an incandescent bulb into the rear of the truck, one on each side of the truck. Did a 200 mile drive across state, drove well but no change in behavior. When I got back I check the function of the third brake light on the top of the cab. It illuminates when my doors open but not when...

    Lift pump mechanical or electrical?

Thats the one. 4 feet of dry lift, 18k hour minimum lifespan. talk about overkill for this application. cheapest ive seen it is 155$ but boy would that be the end all E Fuel upgrade.

    Lift pump mechanical or electrical?

Isnt there a marine Walbro pump for Diesel powered boats that is supposed to be the bees knees for pumping diesel? I had it pulled up on my PC for some time but cant remember what it was now.

7.3 eo4d cross member made to fit zf5?

I flipped mine around 180 degrees and then welded a bracket to one side so it went along the outside of the frame. Didnt come out pretty, but then I didnt bother making it look nice. Its held up for about 40k so far and doesnt show any signs of fatigue. If you know you are good at welding, then...

Wiring Glow plugs on 93 7.3 idi to a momentary switch

With all due respect, you can disagree all you want but the fact is, in an electrical system and particularly the electrical system on these trucks, if the controller isnt priming as long as it should, that means there is a resistance buildup somewhere in the circuit that should remedied. Having...

Wiring Glow plugs on 93 7.3 idi to a momentary switch

The controller and relay tend to either work correctly or not at all and generally speaking the only reason to bypass the controller with a momentary switch is if the controller stops functioning. Its a fairly expensive part for what it is. As others have said, the clicking after the "Wait to...

    92 F350 7.3idi E4OD limp mode?

Looks like 1.1 at Idle and 3.8-4.3 at WOT is supposed to be ideal.

    92 F350 7.3idi E4OD limp mode?

Good question...I dont recall and there was an update released at some point to update the spec. Quick google search showed .8-1.2 at idle and 4.0-4.4 at WOT. So youre at the high end on the idle and low on the WOT values. I suppose, if your truck idles a little higher than expected or if your...

    92 F350 7.3idi E4OD limp mode?

So its a little low I think. Yeah try adjusting it up and clear your codes then see if anything changes. Based on the earlier image you posted of the fluid and fragments, you might need to flush the fluid again also. Still concerning where the debris came from.

    Easy Fuel Additive system

Well shoot! Im almost done welding the cell together already so its a little late to go back now! Just need to put on one more fitting and it'll be finished, then I get to sort out mounting it in the truck. Underbody tool boxes sure are a pain in the ass to find for cheap.

Thats...weird. Mine doesnt do that but then mine doesnt have cruise control either.

    Easy Fuel Additive system

Almost done welding the cell, just welded in the filler neck last night, threaded pipe fittings are next. Whole thing is constructed out of 304L Stainless. I am trying to sort out how to plumb the feed into my tank. I was originally going to "T" it into the vent hose but I took a look yesterday...

Front seat options for 1994 F250 extended cab?

I scrapped a 2001 Mercury Mountaineer with power heated leather captains chairs. Installed them in my regular cab 94 F250 but they did require drilling 2 holes I think and obviously wiring for full functionality. They are a little tall and tight in a regular cab but should fit an extended cab...

    92 F350 7.3idi E4OD limp mode?

Did you do the test with the truck off? I dont recall exactly but I believe if you test it with the truck off and not in gear or something silly, it will always return a code 62, OR that code 62 is stored in the memory so if the clutch ever slipped it will show up until you clear the codes. I...

    92 F350 7.3idi E4OD limp mode?

The shavings on the magnet dont look terrible, mine looked like a shrew growing on the thing. The fragments in the bottom of the pan is concerning. These transmissions are self contained systems, aside from the few sensor signals, nothing else really interacts with them. I would check the FIPL...

    92 F350 7.3idi E4OD limp mode?

So you dropped the Transmission oil pan and found chunks of metal in the bottom of it? Lots of microscopic shavings clumped around the magnet is not uncommon, especially since people tend not to clean them out...ever, it seems. Hows the fluid? Did you change the filter when you had the pan off...

    92 F350 7.3idi E4OD limp mode?

The truck is missing the column shift lever? How do you put it in and out of gear? The O/D button is wired into the handle so you would have to figure out how that circuit was wired to compensate for the missing lever. When you say it lost overdrive, is it just not shifting into OD or is it...

That #$%^ serpentine belt chirp again!

I will third(?) the pulley alignment. My 94 F Superduty had an idler pulley that was not aligned correctly and the belt would chirp constantly against the flange of the pulley. Eventually, it tore off a rib, then the belt chirped worse with the loss of friction. Checked the pulleys and the idler...
