My local speed shop builds these axles from scratch for 375$ with a 2yr warranty. They suggest bringing the truck to their shop so they can measure the truck, build the shaft, and install it. Took about 20 minutes last time I did a E4OD to ZF5 swap.
Yeah but that isnt fake, thats just not the OEM. Do you have an example of an actual plug with Beru or Motorcraft markings on it that is actually a knockoff? I have actually always used a 10mm on my GPs and they have always been OEM motorcraft/Beru but 10mm is only slightly larger than 3/8" and...
Those arent counterfeit OEM, those are just aftermarket plugs from an aftermarket manufacturer. ZD-9 is the part# for the plug. Lots of companies make aftermarket replacement parts and may use the same part#. The OEM is either Motorcraft or Beru. Not exactly sure which one of them actually makes...
There are wheel shops who do repair work on aluminum rims. I dont see why a skilled welding shop couldnt hog out the lug holes and weld in inserts to repair the rims.
I imagine a brake rotor or wheel hub (I dont recall how a dually is setup) with the studs pressed in could be used in...
Sounds like you have some fuel/air intrusion and/or fuel drain back issues.
If you end up needing a new starter, I would suggest a Powermaster 9050 unit.
Would an engine actually run at 8.5 after TDC?
My truck is sitting at 4.5BTDC and it idles pretty poorly, smokes just a bit, doesnt feel like it has the same getup and go like my other truck (could just be F-Super vs F250) and runs pretty hot. As far as I am aware, those could all be signs of...
I used 1/4" wall box tubing, sealed up with 3/8" plate and a 4" C-Beam Bracket running down the outside of the frame for my bed. I'll get some pictures of it. Not a SRW and the bed is stupid heavy for what I throw at it but might give you some ideas for yours. I used 5/16" steel diamond plate...
Thats a funky one. Its like an elongated obstruction wrench had a baby with an offset wrench.
Whats the big half moon hook doodad for? Is that to turn the IP and hold it in place while you tighten the nuts?
Very cool, got more pics for us? where does the pump mount? To be honest, NPT fittings screwed into the PTO Covers sounds like a hack job to me but maybe thats the best way to do it. Couldnt one line be plumbed from the drain port and the other plumbed to the fill port? Maybe the drain port...
Maybe Wix has gone downhill? Similar to Royal Purple? Wix was purchased by Mann-Hummel about 4 years ago although I dont know that that would result in a product quality loss considering Mann is a very well regarded filter company.
I checked on the filter positioning in my superduty and I...
This is the one I was looking at getting. Spec is 90% @ 10uM. That is a huge improvement.
It is also 3.5" longer and .5" larger in diameter. That isnt MUCH larger around but it might hang down a bit.

I had looked these up. Donaldson is 99% @ 17uM, Motorcraft is 98% @ 18uM. Its a slight difference but its a difference and the price isnt that much more. I am going to see if my local can get them. It would be interesting to see if the big blue filters would fit our trucks.
How expensive is that donaldson? I have thought about switching my superduty over to one of those for a while now but the only ones i have found have been extremely expensive, upwards of 80$. They are larger even than the FL1995 motorcraft right? Any issues fitting them on a N/A 7.3?
My metalworking bay was originally a tri-axle bay, so it is quite large. The door opening can fit two vehicles side by side, around 18 feet, 20 feet high. Great work space but ive had an on going restoration in it for 5ish years and it has just been an absolute mess this whole time. Seeing your...
My local store (the owner is a good friend of mine) never stocked FRAM until earlier this year. He said they were acquired by another company and is no longer the same product. This is a carquest store that has always stocked carquest filters made by Wix or Mann. They have the PSD FL-1995...
