CDD 38 Gallon/Single Tank Conversion Kits

How much for the straps that go to the 38 gallon tanks? Mine drug behind me today for about 18 miles till I was pulled over. One side let loose from the all thread I have holding mine up with the stock straps

    Aftermarket gauges recommendations

Don't forget oil pressure! I use equus on oil pressure and boost guages and auto meter for my egt and water temp. Both brands seem to work great, I would prefer auto meter on all of them but I was broke wen I got the oil and boost guages.

Powerstroke zf5 to 92 Idi swap

No need for flanges, just adjusting length if need be. They are both obs so the pedal assembly will work as well as master and slave cylinders.

Powerstroke ZF5 to a IDI truck?

I don't believe so either. Only the idit is different I believe. 6.9 idi and 7.3 idi I believe are same.

Powerstroke ZF5 to a IDI truck?

No worries, the first gen psd starter is the same and can be used on an idi. Having issues on finding the bolt specs for the flywheel. Hopefully someone chimes in with better knowledge than I on that particular matter

Powerstroke ZF5 to a IDI truck?

Honestly never tried that. Did the pressure plate for an idi as well as flywheel and clutch disk and throw out bearing. Just the powerstroke transmission. Some of it may work from the powerstroke, but I don't know it for a fact other than the transmission itself as well as the starter. But the...

Powerstroke ZF5 to a IDI truck?

Not off the top of my head but in the tech section it has basically every part number and size known to these trucks. Il take a look

Powerstroke ZF5 to a IDI truck?

    Use the idi flywheel.

Powerstroke ZF5 to a IDI truck?

My 91 has a zf from a 97 psd. As mentioned before, the speedo cable will be an issue on brick and bullnose. My wife has a 93 f350 with a 90 f450 super duty zf in it. No issue with bell housing there. Best part is knocked off the transmission brake and the bw1356 bolted right up in the brakes...

    Surprise under valve cover

I've popped the head off a new headbolt at 85 ft lbs, more than once. And with a different torque wrench each time thinking calibration was off. As for the push rods,:wtf:. Pulled an 85 6.9 out with over 300k on it and push rods looked better than that. In fact I'm pretty sure I threw em back in...

New IP and injectors still wont start

Lol started my Gramps 85 6.9 with a propane line sitting in the breather bowl without gp's gp's or block heater. My truck will start without glow plugs down to 38 degrees without block heater but I also had to replace the starter shortly after. Not real good for it I don't think. But as stated...

    Fuel Injectors or IP?

I have heard nothing but good things about conistoga and they have a good rep on this forum as well as r&d idi performance and Classic Diesel Designs. I got a nice set of injectors from @Thewespaul at Classic Diesel Designs that I am still amazed with and as soon as funds allow I will be getting...

    Ip going out?

Well Holly hell! Worked! Now I just need to un stick it and figure out why it stuck in the first place. With the new tank, shower head, lines, sending unit, injectors, and filters I shouldn't be getting junk in there to jam it up. And my tank is still pristine clean so not sure. Maybe it's just...

    Ip going out?

It is but I also have that fitting on the pump head gutted which really has me stumped. No pressure from return t at back of the engine to tank. Just replaced all the return lines between injectors and from ip to filter head wen I got the new injectors just a month or so ago. No pressure then on...

    Ip going out?

.... Both guages are reading almost the same from the regulator to the guage I rigged up on the return. How is this possible? Idle supply at 5.5 and return is 3 psi. Blew the return line out after removing it from tank and got same numbers. Disconnected return line from tank again and blew...

    Ip going out?

Forgot to mention, I removed lift pump long ago and capped that hole. I have a 105 gph 15psi e pump and regulaters is set at 5.5 psi and it holds it there rather well even under a bit of throttle.

    Ip going out?

I have an ip for a 6.9 on my 7.3 idi and have slowly over the course of a few years went up a flat just tweeking some more power, or at least attempting to. Problem is, haven't ever felt a difference till I put some new stage 1 injectors in and it woke up rather nicely. Today I noticed the truck...

    1993 7.3 IDI Factory Turbo

Well yeah. U keep the VIN to the truck with the truck it came with. But if u swap the dash that the VIN is riveted to u need to put it on the dash going back into that vehicle.

    1993 7.3 IDI Factory Turbo

No. Much more skinny than the idi. It will have to be swapped. Already found this out the hard way. Just swap the whole dash, much easier with wires and all still in there as well as cluster, but swap the VIN plates. No difference on output shafts, but the starter mounts on the adapter plate...

    1993 7.3 IDI Factory Turbo

Fuel efficiency, idi swap. With proper gearing u can squeez alot more mpg. Power, well 460 is good and all but not hard to get same power from idi and still retaining mpg. 460 is nice but consumes fuel how it consumes fuel. Idi with a good mech tune will do all u want it to as well as be cheaper...

Anybody running Tractor Supply's "Traveller" oil?

I tried it a few years ago without much issue as far as consumption, went back to my usual out of habit on next oil change and never messed with it again. Honestly forgot about it.
