    The orange O ring is a Teflon seal for the converter lock up clutch. If it's not damaged, you can leave it.

    Gas and diesel use the same packs. The difference is in the years. I would do a pressure test before playing with the solenoid pack.

    Dump the fluid into a clean container, reuse it. You could loosen the bolt holding the spring if you want.

    Drop the pan and reset the manual lever. You will have to (gently) pull the detent spring, then move the manual lever back into position. Put the manual lever in the neutral position. Install the range sensor, set it by lining the index marks. Plug it back in, you should be good to go.

    You cant get a TCC solenoid as a separate part. You have to by a new or recon solenoid pack of your E4. You can find them on fleabay by searching 89 E4OD.

    Front pump seal has failed. This is very common. Heat is the most common cause of this failure. The second cause is a worn or damaged bushing.
