    BOOB power tour

Well, I went through about every nut and bolt on mine with the end goal of being able to drive across country if I wanted to. There’s no such thing as not worrying when you are driving a 30 year old or 3 year old vehicle long distances. So I carry tool proportionate to how far I’m going and then...

    Not-Charging Frustration

The Warning bulb being bad in the OBS trucks can cause a no charge issue right? I have no clue on a van. I lost track. Did you hot wire the alternator and see it charge?

    Snap on 480 timing meter

The military surplus units come up sometimes and work just fine. Parts are available for them too. I think the line clamp was $75??

    Unique Modifications

Ford. It’s from a superduty with 10.5 rear diff. You can order them new or grab one from the junk yard. Bolts right on. You may need different bolts. I think I used socket head cap screws in 5/16”. Stainless of course. [emoji6]

    Unique Modifications

Too many to list really. A couple favorites are the nickel plated valve covers. My spare tire winch. Note that tire is bigger than the spare so it hangs down a touch more. I hadn’t swapped it yet for the new tire.

    Not-Charging Frustration

There is a really good reason I eliminated all my fusible links. I struggled with an electrical issue for weeks. I’d check the circuits and they would test fine. Try to use the circuits and I’d come up with like 6v on the circuit. The fusible link was together by a few strands and when load was...

brand new napa starter not engaging flywheel

I know. I figured it out on the first try at firing. LOL it took two tries to get one that worked. Not for very long mind you. That’s why I have a powermaster on it now.

brand new napa starter not engaging flywheel

I changed a starter at the 2017? Rally in KY. Replaced it with a Napa reman. They initially gave me a powerstroke starter which will bolt but won’t engage. Sounds like that’s not your issue. When I first installed my original starter I actually had to sand the engine plate to relieve it a bit...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Got some windshield time this weekend. Ran up into PA on Friday to pick up metal for my wood shed. Then yesterday I picked up a log splitter. The reciever on the front of the trailer worked perfect!

    Not-Charging Frustration

They made v belt versions For some of the MD trucks. Mine was for a tall deck 429. You can also swap your 1 g pulley if you use a shim approximately the thickness of the cooling fan from the 1g. Discard the fan obviously.

Ask @catbird7 about not having the ground wire on the case. He fought the same issue a while back.

So what did you do with your truck today?

She’s a pavement princess for sure. Notice the bed liner sure didn’t go in the bed of the truck. [emoji23][emoji23] Hopefully I’ll get the other 98% of it cut and buffed this winter. [emoji2957]

So what did you do with your truck today?

Big Red put in a little work. Needed some rock to put in a French drain and a gravel pad for the wood shed. Built a tailgate out of some leftovers. Took my old plastic bedliner and it drops right in there. Holds 2 ton pretty easy. Could probably do another half ton but 2 ton is about what...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Needed to move the junk parts truck to make way for a wood shed. Don’t have a trailer it will fit on so I made it a trailer. Not too bad for my first stick welds in 20 years. LOL This truck hasn’t moved this easy since it last moved itself.

    BOOB power tour

If for no other reason than lack of real planning, I don’t see how this could happen next year. The logistics are going to be non-trivial to do it well. Honestly two years of planning might not be enough. I still think it’s a great idea. It’s going to take a lot of cooperation to pull it off...

    Project: IDI International Travelall

Be careful using ps filters. Those systems are more finicky to backing fluid up to the point running the trans cooler on the radiator as a cooler really doesn’t work well (speaking from the idi/f-series perspective). I put one of the wix filters with the magnets on it in my hydroboost return...

I'm back in the IDI game!

Dude, you aren’t supposed to store your potable water there. LOL Sorry. Couldn’t resist. That sucks. It was clearly full of water on top of the oil though for sure. I think that one may just need to be deposited in the Briny deep from whence it came.

    Project: IDI International Travelall

I’m not sure the answer but it’s just a filter head. I don’t know what the pressure of the system is at the filter but I suspect with the right filter it’s a possibly. Finding a filter the right flow, right filtration, right thread size might be challenging. There are universal Wix heads that...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Yep. Dealing with this now. Can’t keep my rears adjusted for crap because they are out of round. Finding a place to turn them is hard.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Big Red has stayed busy moving things around. Mostly building supplies. Hauled a load of pine needles and pine junk away. Moved a pop up camper for @pafixitman to help him out. He can fill in the rest of the story if he wants. LOL Must have been karma because randomly my dome light started...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Hauled away all the old decking. 1.29 tons worth. Truck trailer and load were 11100 lbs. Truck and trailer were like 8520. Now I just have to put it all back. LOL

So what did you do with your truck today?

Well since I’m not hauling the camper to the rally and back, I’ve been hauling lumber. At least I’m getting something done.
