I have not heard much good about the knockoff 4x6 bi leds but i hope they work out
But I am excited to see where this whole hid projector goes.
I am currently working on retroing a set of mori m1 7.0 in 5x7 for my aussie lights on my brick talk about a pain
when you say our cylinder walls are thin, have you seen how thin 6.7 cummins walls are? our cylinder walls are more than 1/4'' thick
that being said 7&8 are most prone to cavitation, It is still a rare thing to happen, generally on higher milage motors. providing coolant additives were kept up...
got a buddy who lifted heads on a 6.9 studded at 22psi intercooled on a banks charger.
got a idit engine that ran a R&D 110 stage 1 injectors and stage 1 drop in for 20k miles racing and driving as hard as possible seing 30 psi on 187k stock bolts
its a general rule that over 15ish psi on studs...
are you talking about wheel horsepower or crank horsepower? makes a huge difference.
I also would not push a 6.9 past 15 psi of boost studded. i wouldn't push one past 10 on bolts. I have heard of them lifting heads between 17-22 psi of boost.
a healthy stock fuel system (new ip and injectors) a...
yep that sums it up. run a ford diff cover and never look back. $75 worth of parts for a diff cover that will never rust out, and cools better than factory, but still is a oem ford part
in my opinion if you are going to upgrade the turbo the stage 1 drop in from idiperformance.com is the way to go. Insane whistle. amazing spool up and way more flow than a stock turbo. I went to one from a 093 with ww2 and would not go back. they are amazing.
My first thing would be upgrade the...

something like this
couple things you are talking about $200 into exhaust versus $5-700 in a used turbo kit I know which one I would go.
but i will give ya some of the stuff I found while trying to optimize my truck when it was still n/a. I ran a turbo cal ip, and stage 1 injectors. Properly matched injectors...
my buddy who was up for the weekend suggested possibly even using carpet pad on the floor to help deaden noise. I know everyone says you dont have to cover every square inch just like 60% but it makes more sense to me to fully cover everything, and it will help with insulating which would be...
I just did this and man I am scared to hear how loud it got. that is why i will be sound deadening the cab before too long.
I looked everywhere and could not find any either, but i wanted to make my engine bay look better so it had to go.
loving the info great to see someone doing something out of the norm.
If you are still running the stock flattened downpipe, oh my heavens man order the banks downpipe its like $100 and swap it out.
it will also provide a good back to back testing to see how much your egts drop i suspect 200*...
I know my plan is when i get time to put down 50 mil killmat insulation on the floor, and then noico green 170mil on top. The noico green is supposed to be comparible to the dynamat floor liner or whatever. and then do the back wall and both sides of the extended cab. and the roof as well. I...
holy crap those compression numbers are something i would be concerned with!
240 being the low and 100 psi between high and low is huge.
Heck i would consider 320 psi across all of them low , but dropping down to 240 is extremely low. something is seriously out of wack. I would almost wonder...
it sounds like your fueling is just perfect then 1250 with foot on the floor with that much weight is perfect, heck you could even go up some more and then have more room to feather, but still.
Side note for anyone curious i did a turbo boost gauge and a intake boost gauge to measure boost drop...
exactly what @IDIBRONCO said, stock for stock the banks sidwinder is a great turbo and holds its own against a factory turbo great. I is just very hard to buy parts for wether to rebuild or upgrade, I dont like them for that, or the fact that for a new old stock kit is the same price as a r&d...
@ocnorb awesome!
how are you liking that edge cts 2 with the eas kit? Did you also know about the ability to run switches off it? I always have been curious as to how the eas kit is to work with? and how ya like it?
im just gonna toot my horn, but isnt montana amazing. I have gotten so spoiled growing up, because that is just normal for me the veiw, and all the cool antiques
i dont suggest running a electric and mechanical.
honestly it sounds like you pump is absolutely perfect dont change it. that is exactly what every good pump i have tested ran at. I honestly wouldnt worry about it, run it!
After reading everything it honestly sounds like you are on the right track. I would assume timing would help. I would not mess with fuel delivery it sounds perfect. It is ok for a little bit of black to show on the xhaust tip. espeicalliy since you say you dont see any smoke ever.
couple things...
Funny you are up in my neck of the woods. I grew up in victor, and darby was one of our local rivals. Spent tons of time at como as well.
Glad your trip is going well, my suggestion when you get back make sure to install a coolant temp gauge. it is also a very vital gauge to have.
