    I was thinking he might be able to run it with the front half of the rear shaft still in place due to the slip yolk. Is that not possible?

    That’s exactly what I would do, drop the front shaft and go drive it. If shakes persist, then reinstall and drop the rear shaft and go drive it, if still persist, then scratch your head....cause I’m not sure what to do about the slip yolk in the transfer case if the front half of the rear shaft...

    As far as Wally, I check it everyday for mice. Killed one in the last week. It is empty, vacuumed and has 6 snap traps set, 2 peppermint oil balls and is resting in the shade to keep the sun off it, and the tires. I’m still working on landscaping and my Passat wagon.

    I like these. Square, hefty, and I actually use a larger hose to pour through so nothing is necked down. And in a pinch, they will hold 6 gallons. Buy once cry once. I have 3 of this kind and 4 of the self venting bubbling kind. While those work, the VP jugs are worth it.

    Oh, may not help you, but on the snap traps with the plastic yellow piece, I grind down the top of the metal on a grinding wheel to a point. It becomes pretty hairy at that point.

    So many great suggestions here!! I think @Old Goat takes the cake for rodent infestations. I thought I had it bad. @Cubey the traps still work, but they have gotten smarter around them. You have to change. Run the traps perpendicular to the path of travel. Always put at least 2 together...

    Thanks for the info!! I did not know. Heck my ignorant behind didn’t even think of that. And it looks like R12 and R134a are non flammable according to the Google machine. So why would they start using flammable refrigerants now in newer cars?

    Parts 1 & 2 for a longer watch. But goes through it well and why. I found them very informative. Just trying to help with old R12 stuff. The videos say they don’t work, but if you click “watch on YouTube”, they work. Or they did for me.

    Did you check your vent temps? I like this guy...... He gets 38F vent temps on a 90F degree day at idle. He uses HFC-152a (compressed air cans) refrigerant cause its properties closely match R12. Give me a break, it’s an IDI at least LOL
