    Starter diagnosis/solutions

If you "saw smoke"..Well I'm thinking your winding are about ruined. Or maybe the smoke was from oil burning off the outside of the case.

    My 1st Blackstone-Labs report,

The lead can be from a different driver easily. you tell us this was grand dads rig so my guess is he drove it differently than you. If this is your first sample what are you comparing it too.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Today I tackled the intake oil leak. Been believing it was the gasket under the Banks turbo hat...Nope.. It was me not getting the rubber hose from the hat to the turbo installed correctly. How that happened is a wonder. Cleaned everything. Cut a new gasket. Installed dry. Road test later...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Turning radius is huge towing with a crewcab. Our 5th wheel is 30 ft. then add the crewcab and you plan turns the day before you get there.

    Turbo P/N needed

This forum is lucky to have Russ aka typ4 helping us with parts. I recall he purchased everything ATS had on the shelves when they were dropping the turbo line because of more profitable turbo lines. Kind a sad when that happens.

    Timing degree setting

My guess this mechanic in the day used the luminosity probe type timing method. They used an AFTER TOP DEAD CENTER timing. It was something like -2 degrees at 1400 rpm too. The pulse method of timing is what is generally felt like the best way to time and that is 8.5 dbtdc. My engine likes 9.4...

    This stumped a Ford mechanic...

Tow driver either didn't know or didn't care bout the trans. sadly you will require a COMPLETE new trans. Not a chance in hell anything is salvageable. E350 questions

Welcome to the forum. Working on the Vans is tuff but doable just the same. You are able to work from both ends of the engine. Being clean is more important than you think. Anytime you open the fuel system to replace the return lines you want it hospital room clean. I wear harbor freight blue...

    Injector Cap O-ring Durometer

The o ting placed between the cap and the hard line nut really has worked well for a few with issues like yours. As for the hard starts you might replace the filter feed line nut seals. They are in the line to the filter at the filter head and both ends of the injection pump feed line.

Turbo Oil Feed Line N/A to Turbo

You will be fine with the na turbo fitting.EVERY na engine Banks or Hypermax installed a turbo on had the small 1/8 inch fitting and they ran fine for millions of miles. The turbo blocks are all 1/4 inch pipe thread oil ports. The na engines are the 1/8 inch pipe plug ports.

with this tool....doing rear brakes on a 10.25 can actually be "easy"

Thanks for the very descriptive explanation and great pics. I purchased the second tool with the red handle but sure didn't pay that much for it. My first rear brake job I had non of these tools so I made my own. It barely worked. Second brake job I had the CORRECT tool. You bet I will be...

New 93 turbo engine, lots of white smoke.

Your engine really needs to be timed with a meter. Hopefully you did not remove the injection pump with the top gear housing and gear at the same time.If you did then I feel you are not gear timed correctly.

Temp Gauge triggers the "ENGINE" idiot light - Engine not overheating at all

The way these coolant sensors work is the one in the drivers side front of the head is normally open but..When your coolant reaches 242 degrees it will send the dash gauge needle well past the "L" and turn on the light. They do fail. Easy to lift the wire and not worry about it.,To test if this...

    Turn Indicator Switch

This is soooo true.I tried to install mine WITHOUT removing the wires from the plug. Finally watched a few videos on u tube. Then took several pics of my original plug wires for placement. Water Pouring out of bell housing.

As a friendly suggestion it might be a good idea to pressurize the coolant system after the plugs back there are installed.I used air pressure to 35 lbs on my bare block checking for leakers. Water Pouring out of bell housing.

Our idi blocks have 7 freeze plugs. Two are behind the flywheel. Two are on the passenger side and the last three are on the drivers side. They are all the same size at 1 1/2 inch concave and not the cup type normally found in any other blocks. We can machine out the holes and use the Boss 429...
