Well it was yesterday but I'm slow.
Recharged the A/C on Big Ugly. Again. This time though I only recharged it so I could do a bubble test. Tried the dye kit once and yeah never again.
Background. Every component in my AC was replaced last year with the exception of the hoses. It works just...
My .02. If it's running good leave it alone.
Either have your injectors pop tested and matched, or learn to make your own cheap pop tester (bottle jack) and do it yourself. (You've got time) and install them when you need a new IP at the same time as the pump.
If your truck starts fine, save...
I have a 6.9 in the works that has been on the back burner forever. I used a .040 oversize sealed power set and milled .050 off the top.
I know it will be hard to start. Don't care. But as with you not a daily at all.
Hope to get back on it soon. Working hard to get my shop built.
Well I finally got around to this. Been traveling the last 3 weeks so spent a few minutes today.
Looks like I'm on site 30 arriving on the 12th. Going to do an overnite on the way up somewhere if anyone else has more than a 1 day drive and want's to convoy.
Studs were easy. Seems like they'll be a pain but came out and went in without any issues.
I dreaded that part of it before I got into it but it wasn't bad at all.
And I reused mine. I thought about replacing them but did not. Maybe I'll be okay, maybe not.
Just last week I installed Stoptech slotted rotors and EBC yellow pads on my truck as well as calipers. 93' F350 4x4 standard cab.
Not cheap and I'm hoping for good performance/life out of them. They are fine so far but barely even broken in yet.
I have heard good things so went with that...
It was back in 08' before the turbo and mooosepump, but I pulled 14.5k from Houston Texas to Lynchburg VA. 93' F350 SRW 4wd with 3.55 gears. At the time I was running a 315/75-16 tire or roughly 34". E4OD with a very large cooler, EGT gauge and tranny temp guage. No issues but steeper hills were...
So it's been a long while as after the rally last July Big Ugly got put in hibernation due to me being busy and just not having time to fool with things.
The rally report I should have written and attached here months ago goes like this.
Excellent performance all week in Tennessee from the...
Sorry I've been absent. 11-19th works great for me.
I'll reserve my spot soon. Going to be weird (Awesome) not sleeping in a tent this year.
Looking forward to it. Definitely do the MT Washington drive. That's someting I've always wanted to do.
Looks like it's 800 miles one way for me.
My 02. As someone who has just recently gotten back here and had the opportunity to meet people and attend a couple rally's lately my thoughts are why not sticky a link in each forum leading back to this forum as a reminder for people who may not be thinking about the events as they search for...
So I have a single incident where I've had lockup problems with my 93 E4od.
It was related to the trans solenoid connector plug. Maybe you've already checked that but if not make sure it's connected properly and all the terminals are clean.
If that's not it I'll let the more knowldegable help...
Well on my vehicles that have paint on them I do a polish. Use Chemical Guys 36 polishing compound to get out swirl marks, then 38. After that I seal it with Jet Seal. All of this is done with a random orbital polisher. Takes some time but it's only once a year. Once the jet seal is on it is so...
So lets discuss. I was just trying to formulate how it would be possible to go further and still have the feel of a rally. Focusing on the convoy, or at least the pre-determined stops would afford the ability to travel with the group or the freedom to do your own that day and meet at the...
I'm in the same position. New truck only holds 25 gallons. That's fine for just driving but not for towing.
I've got a 100 gallon aluminum transfer flow tank I might try to adapt to the Nissan.
Transfer flow themselves don't have anything but I can rig up a pump controller.
So I've had an idea about a traveling BOOB camping/roadtrip to allow us to reach a further rally destination as a group.
The title of this thread was stolen from @laserjock summation of my idea. Seems the most fitting/accurate.
I was looking at the 2020 rally thread and one of the suggestions...
Damnit my intention was not to derail this thread. My idea is not a 2020 idea.
Lets get back on topic.
I'll start another thread for that as it seems that's at least an interesting idea.
With that said I might have something to throw in the pot for 2020. Waiting for confirmation on something...
Subject for another thread but I'll plant the seed here. I see this as a 2 week trip from where I am.
Could be an opportunity for a traveling Boobs rally. Kind of like a bunch of carnies going across the country. Pre-designated camp spots for a convoy on the way out to the rally. Same on the...
I don't have an answer for why it's happening but if you want it to stay put use green loctite when you install it.
That is a standard method of seal installation on some harleys.
