    Got it. Thanks.

    C6 to E4OD ?

    Would it be a nightmare to fit an E4OD from a 95 F150 straight 6 2wd in the place of an '87 F250 C6 6.9IDI 4wd?

    Injection hard lines

I got a set not long ago (for my 6.9) and they don't fit very well. I had to do a lot of tweaking and was never able to get one of the clamps on. I carry my old ones in the truck in case one of these new ones fails. I should have just put the old ones back on.

    Well this is normal.

If my wife ever found out that I wash my dirtbike's air filters in our clothes washing machine she'd probably condemn the machine and make me buy a new one for washing our clothes. FYI, I highly recommend using NoToil on foam air filters and cleaning them with Oxy Clean in the vessel of your...

    Well this is normal.

Well I guess the good news is that you've got good compression and a strong starter.

White Smoke When I Let Off

I seem to remember that the order of things matters. Was it to leave the unit off until after you start the engine? Or turn the unit on and let it settle and then start the engine? I remember something like that that wasn't in the instructions but seemed to matter.

    Speedometer cable help

The core cable wasn't seized. It was twisted up inside the sheath until it broke. I bought a new one (that is a bit longer than what I had because that's all that's available). It fit fine and there were no sharp bends. It worked for about 2 miles and then I heard the same slight ticking sound...

Injectors without o-rings... do any exist?

    C6 fluid change advice?

Thanks. Could I bother you for more specifics on this notch?

    C6 fluid change advice?

Gonna do my first fluid and filter change on my C6. Any advice on how much fluid to drain? Does the torque converter have a drain? I've heard a full drain/replacement can "shock" an old tranny and do harm? Any/all advice appreciated.

Valley pan gasket? 7.3 idi turboed

During the drought someone here posted a place that had them in stock so I grabbed one just because I felt like I should (even though I don't know if I'll ever use it). And a few months later they were making them again and available everywhere. And now they're all gone? Seems bizarre to me.

Valley pan gasket? 7.3 idi turboed

Weird. I thought I read here not long ago that these were commonly available again. Did the Ebay gold miner buy them all up in hopes of selling them all for $1,000 each some day?

How to remove rear fuel tank?

The cheap shaker siphon hoses work really well. I was surprised how well it works. I use mine for all kind of things. Mostly for dumping off-road diesel into my furnace tank when the wife forgets to order heating oil. ;-) But I guess it might be tough to shake it in this instance?

    New bed??

I've seen a few companies on Craigslist that go to non-rust belt states and haul back truck loads of good vintage body parts. I just searched here "rust free truck beds" and a PA place came up. YMMV https://maine.craigslist.org/ptd/d/littlestown-truck-bed-box-rust-free/7614299714.html

I would think to get from 30 to 9 would involve adjusting the gear.

    Ford Parts Giant sucks

That is the point of my starting this thread. A decent company, or human (which these people are not), might have had a normal conversation with me saying that the picture is an error on their end (and I would have agreed, based on the price) and sent me the part # for the tube that is not...

    Ford Parts Giant sucks

The only reason I even ended up at Ford Parts Giant was because I read a post or two here saying that they were OEM/Genuine Ford parts. And that's what I wanted. Maybe they do sell OEM parts. But they have the worst customer service that I've ever experienced. I guess we don't need to wonder why...

    Ford Parts Giant sucks

I used them for the first time and bought a CDR valve and gasket/tube. They arrived with no tube. Just the round gasket. They clearly show the tube when you're buying. https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/parts/ford-gasket-regulating_e3tz-6a892-a.html So I call them and get the 15 minute hold on the...

Anyone in Missouri have a decent rig for sale?

No problem cold starting here down to -10F (so far). And I only have the original block heater for winter temps. I didn't know about "mashing" the pedal. I just push the pedal down once to activate the high idle and let off, hold my glow plug button in for 8-10 seconds, and she usually fires...

    Speedometer cable help

Well I guess I'm back to square 1 and my only option is the 92" cable and try to not put too much bend in it. I can send you my core kit if you want. Send me a PM with your mailing address.

    Worth fixing.

It does seem like most here try to do it right the 1st time even if it means some more money and more time. I guess that's because most of us either plan to keep it for a long time or don't have a choice in that matter.

    Timing 7.3

Pop off throttle cable also. For driver's side I just ground down the thickness of a box end wrench. Works fine.

    Timing 7.3

A stubby open-end wrench works great for that nut. You can only turn it one flat at a time. But you don't need many turns to loosen it enough to adjust the pump.

    Speedometer cable help

I went to pull my core out of the housing. I grabbed the dashboard end. It slid out very easily. All 3' of it. I went to the tranny end. There was barely any wire sticking out and it didn't want to come out. I worked at it with needle-nose pliers for a while and managed to slide it out a couple...
