    Driveline Center Support Bearing replacement

I use a 10 ton hydraulic puller to remove it and heat to install it. Some people like to debate against using heat to install it while they beat it on with a pipe. Pick your poison.

So what did you do with your truck today?

So far today the transfer case is in the bronco. I took a ford e40d crossmember and then a Toyota/Lexus control arm. Shortened the control arm and made some brackets as a support point for the np205.

    Front receiver hitch

Im not sure if that was at me Nero but I was never saying to bump mount. I was saying to cut a square out of the center of your bumper and bring your receiver tube through there as an option.

    Front receiver hitch

Here’s the different positioning of things to consider. Plow crossmember, and two examples (rsk and factory) why you have to make the brackets come forward or low. Or, if it was my truck I’d make it so that the square tube is right behind the bumper and then cut the bumper so that the receiver...

    Front receiver hitch

That’s correct on the plow frame and it’s definitely strong, I drove the cross bar into boulders at speed. I’d do like I did with the grand am and other cars. Let’s say the truck frame is 1/4. Make 1/4 brackets on outside of bumper brackets that drop down enough/position to clear a square...

Motor work. Bent rods, loose lifter,

X2 that was the point of my question

Motor work. Bent rods, loose lifter,

what’s the root cause you are suggesting that wouldn’t happen again with a new lifter and rod?

I want to pick some brains

Cavitation is overstated, but I’m glad your happy with your decision. Most cavitated 7.3s are long dead.

I want to pick some brains

A number of reasons - if the engine is out then resealing the oil pan is a great opportunity to correct a source of often pesky leaks when in vehicle. Oil pans are not expensive. If you tried to reuse the factory oil pan it’s often bent coming off and not the greatest going back on. Depending on...

I want to pick some brains

exactly to what you are asking, first hand experience on 3+ 7.3 engines. Compression test first, look at numbers. If good - tear down and reseal. Replace oil pan. Oil cooler service, measure things (heads valves etc) new valve seals. Comp910 springs if running high boost. Factory if not. Stud...

All of this is documented in a full 5 year build thread : https://www.oilburners.net/threads/1989-f-250-7-3-project.83864/ and on LaRosa Motors youtube channel. If you want a bunch of IDI performance parts, this is for you. You can scrap the truck and still be ahead. Clean PA title. I have been...

    1988 IDI Bronco

On the T04Z truck, I’m running a catch can. It’s working, but I feel that it is unnecessary. That truck is decently capable, being fed with an R&D 130cc. It has 5000 miles on the build and 2500 mile change intervals is seeming about right so far. For that truck, it has a v band intake manifold...

It’s all about the approach angle. It can take 2 minutes at the correct angle or 2 hours of trying at the wrong angle. What you are describing is the angle being off.

So what did you do with your truck today?
