    Injection pump rebuild

Hi Pump is working good so far The advance bore was badly worn and they had to source a .010 oversize piston as they did not stock one that large. That piston was expensive, it added a approximately 300 extra to my bill. Total cost with taxes was about 1800 dollars. They will also give you a...

Doing oil cooler. Is this trick legit?

I have never done a oil cooler, but argve gave a lot of good advice over the years. Now having read about it. If my cooler started leaking, I would very likely give this a try. Also knowing if I started struggling with it, I would abandon this method.

    Injection pump rebuild

I thought I would add an update on my injection pump. As you know I gave up trying to send my pump as a core into the USA because at that time nobody could predict what amount of tariff would be applied to it. And after calling around I found a shop that I felt had the experience to do a...

    Glow Plug Controller Broke Off!

Old plumber's trick i learned a long time ago, was to use a jig saw and carefully cut from the ID up to !!! but not into !!! the outside threads in 3 places. Then use a chisel to collapse the broken pipe enough to spin it out. In your case I would use a hack saw blade and take your time cutting...

    E350 7.3 idi engine replacement

I went this route. The new filter i ordered also has a threaded plug that can be removed and the original water sensor can be screwed into this location if you want to keep your water in fuel light working. Even came with a new oring for the water sensor

ZF6 input seal and pilot bearing

My 1990 zf5 s42 does not have the bolt on tube. My 1996 zf5 s47 has the bolt on tube. I allways thought the bolt on version was a redesign when the s47 transmission came out.

Bought a new truck, cant get it started. No fuel coming out of the injection pump.

Just a thought and I apologize if this has already been covered But looking at a diagram of the gear train there are 2 timing marks on the middle gear, one for the crank and one for the pump. You could be 180 degrees out if you aligned to the wrong one.

big block chevy fueling for your IDIT+!!

Unless the camera distorted the optics The distance from the fulcrum point to the diaphragm rod, on the 302 pump in the picture looks shorter than on the idi pump below it. That would definitely lower the amount pumped per cycle. Asuming the diaphragm diameter's are the same. And cam...

    New Here But Not Really

Mine is 2wd . When I converted from auto to 5 speed I used the 4wd version for the ability to have low range. Even though I have no plans to make the truck 4 wheel drive.

    Rear Main Seal Questions

The new seal is one my locale parts store brought in when I ordered. I was not given any other options. Pretty sure, it is the same design that is on the truck now and also pretty sure, the one in the truck has been there since the truck was new. I believe this seal will work for me as long...

    Rear Main Seal Questions

The picture in the attachment looks like the seal was installed the correct way, and the original poster is correct that when it was installed they hooked the forward lip and rolled it backwards in a couple of locations. Ruining the seal Lip should point towards the engine Here is a picture of...

    Portable Inflator suggestions

I have had a tank for years. Got tired of hauling it back and forth to air up the tires on my equipment every spring. Picked up an Milwaukee m12 inflator and with a few extra batteries it gets the job done. But I do believe I would have been happier with the m18 model.

    Injector stuck in head

Thanks, I did a little searching and did not find any reference to this having been done before. So I gave what I hope was a good enough description so that others could also use this if their situation warranted it. The person who put these injectors in did not clean the bores. Looking at the...

    6.9 IDI questions

I have used a cheap, brake vacuum bleeder, to pull the fuel up to the filter, emptied the bleeder cup a number of times making sure no air was left, undid the inlet line to the filter and hooked it up there, I did fill the filter ahead of time. Seemed to help save time cranking. In fact, it...

    Injector stuck in head

Hello BeastMaster In post 13 I described how I was able to unscrew the top part of the injector out of the head. But it had also unscrewed itself from the bottom barrel section. Leaving it stuck in the carbon. To use this tool, the top section of the injector (with the top threads turned off)...

    Injector stuck in head

Of course the copper washer did not come out with the barrel. Maybe there is not one. would have explained all the carbon. I haven't looked yet. My thinking I had bell mouthed the thread was that I had in fact cracked the barrel section stuck in the head. I plan to put air pressure into each...

    Injector stuck in head

It is out. It was pretty obvious this morning that I was not going to get anywhere using the same techniques and I had to come up with a different plan. I measured the injector bore in the head .800 I measured an injector barrel .665 And decided I could make a type of hole saw that would...

    Injector stuck in head

I took a look at the tool on the moose diesel web site. it works basically the same way as the video Rock harvey posted. Which my thanks for posting that video. I did finaly manage to unscrew the injector out of the head and of course it unscrewed from tip. So I turned off the threads in my...

    Injector stuck in head

Liquid nitrogen would probably work. We had a customer that made liquid nitrogen and let us pick some up when ever we wanted to. Have installed and removed press fit components more than a few times with it. I don't have access to this company any more. Also have used dry ice which some welding...
