    The cylindrical thing with the rod poking out is cold idle advance. These will typically start without that working. I wouldn't worry about that, at all, at least right now. That won't stop it firing up.

    I've always used 7lb with good luck, including the RV in the mountains. i personally like the red lever safety caps. It's less messy to check the fluid, since it sends the pressure to the reservoir before you remove it.

    Yeah 87 for F I think. I never had to mess with it to bleed the the brakes on the F250 I had, assuming it was still there. Probably was, the BRAKE light would come on randomly. The RV was 85 so I don't think had it, unless it was well hidden. I guess I need to dig out my old Chilton 1961-1988...
