    Huh. I never noticed a problem. It's above the AC controls on 3rd gen Econoline at the top of the dash, and i go down some pretty bumpy dirt roads.

    Dash Mount kits don't seem required. At least they weren't in the 87 F250, nor 3rd gen E350s. Use the metal cage that comes with the stereo and bend out the tabs closest to the dash panel it goes through.

    Either of these: 6242 (black) or 8242 (white) Both have 240 as a major marker line, which is the absolute highest you want an IDI to get. Both are mechanical. I have the black one.
