    Screwed up parts databases?

I had a 1978 Dodge van with a 1979 wiring harness, with different colors from 78. I know it was a 78 because it had round sealed beams and no wraparound grill. 79 went rectangle and wraparound.

    Screwed up parts databases?

RockAuto seems a little better, only because they don't have a separate model choice for "Club Wagon". That's the database O'Reilly is using that's broken, as far as tie rods at least. Basic E-350 is correct.

    Screwed up parts databases?

The parts database(s) for 80s Econolines just seem busted. The 85 E350 RV with Dana 70 needed a replacement vent fitting to match the aftermarket brake hose (the metal block that the vent bolts down and passes through). No store says one fits. I had to buy one based on something like a 1990...

    Screwed up parts databases?

I don't think 4x4 from the factory existed for Econoline, at least before 92. I figured it out. The master parts catalog pdf, plus RockAuto, has come to the rescue again. 13 is for E-150 (E8UZ-3A131-A) 14 is for E-250/350 (E8UZ-3A131-B) So yes, O'Reilly has a screwed up database...

    Screwed up parts databases?

Yeah O'Reilly is very screwed up. 14 fits or doesn't, depending on the brand. 13 fits club wagon but not regular.

    Screwed up parts databases?

Evidently there's two possible outer right tie rod for my 89 E350?? es2913r and es2914r ... which will be referred to as 13 and 14 for simplicity. O'Reilly says.. 13 doesn't fit E-350 13 fits E-350 Club wagon 14 fits E-350 14 doesn't fit E-350 Club wagon But they're both the same chassis...

    Traveller Smurf (Cubey's '89 van)

Transmission cooler is all hooked up. Stupid thing is 3/8" barbs though, being sold as 5/16". Left a 1* review for it and the seller. I was able to use it by hooking it up with the included 3/8" hose, on 5/16" barbs. I used fuel injector style clamps, so they're good and clamped down. I idled...

    New 7.3 IDI Owner Here

This was posted recently on Facebook. I can't confirm or refute the two comments I showed below, but nobody else had an answer.

    Traveller Smurf (Cubey's '89 van)

It's been a bit hard to get up and do stuff after most of a month sick in bed and dreading working outside in the mild heat/humid with nasty mosquitoes. But I'm slowly working at it a bit every day. The new transmission cooler is mounted. It needs the zip ties on the bottom brackets to keep it...

Are you sure it's not the driveshaft? Check the carrier bearing.

The rear tank doesn’t like to take fuel

The front tank on the RV was awful, especially if it was nose downhill, or a nozzle making a lot of foam. The filler was a LONG way from the tank, so it took extra time to get there if it having to go uphill or slowly go in as foam.

    Help! Vehicle Dies.

I know you said you did all return lines, but one is very hidden. I don't know for sure if trucks have one here, but I think they do. The green line is the short piece of return hose (5/16") that vans have in that spot. You might double check that you replaced that section.

ZD1A and ZD28 Glow Plugs from RA

Hm. Well maybe they took your advice? My first order with RockAuto was 8/1/2011 and the site has always looked that way since I first ordered 13 years ago. I've spent over $2k there over the years. Last order was $270 (with tax & shipping) last winter for shocks, radiator hoses, belts etc. Only...

ZD1A and ZD28 Glow Plugs from RA

It's on you for not even looking at the page. It shows you shipping costs in the cart before you go to checkout, if you have an address entered. Plus they make it obvious, it shows A, B, C for the warehouse on the itemized cart. They have links to information about combining shipping too when...

    She just... died....

No. It just opens the bottom. Water rests is at the bottom because it's denser than diesel. It's also denser than gasoline, so you can use a W/S on a gas vehicle. Below is a photo from when I was getting the water from my bug gas tank last winter. The gas station pumped 3.3 gallons of water, so...

    Traveller Smurf (Cubey's '89 van)

Oh ffs. The barbs someone put on the transmission and filter head are 3/8". Well ok, I ordered a pack of 5/16" barbs since it's 1/4" npt for both the transmission and filter head. Thursday is when they're due for delivery. They're stupidly expensive from auto parts stores ($6 each!), sold as...

    She just... died....

Because it's a drain on a canister that's full of fuel all of the time. It's a water separating "filter", but not a proper fuel filter, hence it being there as well a spin on fuel filter.

    She just... died....

The 83-87 factory water separators mounted on the firewall can let air in due to age of the seals. Try bypassing it and see if it helps.

    Traveller Smurf (Cubey's '89 van)

I finally went over to Advance Auto to buy Carquest brand 5/16" transmission cooler hose, shown online for $2.49/ft. Cheaper than AutoZone brand $2.99/ft or O'Reilly's $4.19/ft Gates. Turns out they had none in stock. Also didn't have Gates, priced at $5.49/ft. Their own inventory system said...

Good replacement for Holley Black Pump?

Yeah, I'm thinking about buying a spare Carter pump. That's what came on this van, so it would be the easiest fix in an emergency. It'll be a direct part swap with the same bracket and wire connectors.

Good replacement for Holley Black Pump?

You can get repair kits for Holley pumps. Did you run in line filters from the tanks before the pump? Because you should. 30-40 year old fuel tanks can flake rust etc to destroy your pump. I had them before the FSV, to keep it from getting ruined for the same reason. I ran a Holley red for 3...

Picture of A/C high side line on 88-91 E2/350 IDI?

Another shot, from a video. definitely bends to go around the filter. Dang. I guess I'll be sending the line back. Bending the line would mess up the routing of the line elsewhere. Also a picture i dug up on genscript's site, and brightened up. Highlighted around it: Maybe a hydraulic...
