    gas station diesel

As long as you are driving regularly, a mild bio blend won't hurt it. In most of Oregon its mostly at least B5 anyways, even for commercial vehicles.

How bad is the HG job on a 7.3 IDI?

I would reccomend a shop to do it, unless you have an ac vacuum pump and manifold gauges. You could use one of those hot shot cans to refill it, but it would be contaminated with oxygen and not function at its fullest.

How bad is the HG job on a 7.3 IDI?

I just used a slightly longer bolt with the factory washer to start sucking it in, then switched to the factory bolt to finish the job. I used a chain to hold the crank still while tightening it down. Make sure to put some silicone on the washer before your final torque.

You can absolutely put the pan on and then the dipstick later. On the engine I'm building the dipstick was the very last thing I put on before stuffing it back in chassis.

It has a barbed end on the bottom of the can that slips into the probably rock hard rubber. Little bit of heat gun should help soften it up.

    Turbo idi flexplate

I have a turbo idi flexplate for sale. Ended up building a N/A block so went with a N/A flex plate instead. $250 plus shipping. Comes with spacer and bolts. Came off of a 1994.

    possible tps failure?

Next time it does it, pop it into neutral and see if the engine still surges. This will isolate if its a transmission issue, or an engine issue. No flahsing O/D light and how it is surging makes me believe it may have sucked an air pocket.

    possible tps failure?

If you think its the transmission, check to see if your O/D light is flashing on the shifter stalk. Flashing means there's a fault code. Pull codes and see what is going on

Looks like the small o ring still in the bag. It is actually a fitting in the side of the block. Be sure to lube it up with something like grease or vaseline so it goes in smoothly.

Top right is CDR to intake gasket. Blue one is for a different style oil cooler. Oval one looks like a turbo drain? I wouldnt worry about it.

Be sure to use as little as possible. You only want enough to dress the gasket, not so much it squishes out in globs, you can plug your oiling system up if you put too much in.

All of them that I have resealed had that pitting. I also RTV'd both sides of the water pump gasket, the timing cover gaskets, the rear seal carrier gasket, the oil cooler gaskets... The only ones I did not was exhaust manifold, head, and the valley pan at the intake ports. You can do the intake...

    Best Valley Pan Gasket?

Turbo or non, they both work fine in both applications. I'd go with the cheaper of the two. Remember when someone tried selling one on ebay for $1000 when Felpro discontinued them? Good times.

    Ats 093 rebuild

Some side to side is fine, so long as the wheels are not touching the housings. If its not, I'd run er. As for builders, other than any generic turbo shop, only vendor I know of since Russ's passing is CDD. Could see if Peterson CNC is doing them, I heard he took over Russ's e shop.

DO NOT. Any time I have used RTV on a seal, it has leaked. In rare occasions I have used anerobic on the outside, but that's all.

    Engine rebuild cost

If I remember right, Justin only does one build, and that's it. He sleeves all blocks, and uses powestroke rods on all builds, regardless of prior condition. As for the transmission, they all bolt up the same to the idi. So whoever does the work should be able to see to remove the flexplate and...

    Engine rebuild cost

Transmission doesn't matter to me. Running status also does not matter. I have bought 3 trucks with dusted engines. All ran, but burned oil like crazy. Even the engine that was originally in my dads white truck ran, but one hole was over 0.040 wore out, so it would have needed sleeved. The...

    Engine rebuild cost

Compression test on a pallett. Thats what I did. Found I had one bad hole. Disassembly proved it. Justin at R&D will build a good core for ready to drop in for $6500 The engine I'm building for my dad, the pistons alone were $1100, and with how many hours in labor I have cleaning and misc...
