So what did you do with your truck today?

@offroad-anarchy these engines were designed to compete with all the others, those 6BT fanboys should shut up and sit down, let's keep giving them a run for their money :peelout

    Project White F250 Restore

Didn't realize it has been over a month since I worked on er... Guess playing with the jeep disrupted my sense of time... Anyways, radiator, fan, shroud, harness, core support, condensor, and upgraded transmission cooler installed. Hood finally latches now! Would have gotten further, but the...

    Faulty Gunson

I had a similar issue with my brand new timing light for my DTI3300, one of the wires was pulled and got impaled by a piece of wire in solder on the board. Pulled it free and insulated it and it worked just fine. Just shows quality control is going down

    Cat 3126 motorhome......IT'S ALIVE!!!!

Just pump. Pump like crazy. You can crack the fuel line where it goes from the filter to the pump, right at the pump, then pump it. That'll guarantee that the lines and filter are primed, then tighten the line, and then pump even more to get fuel into the pump. Then she might start.

Between the intake and the turbo. If it is the factory 093 snail, there is a fitting on it already.

So what did you do with your truck today?

I've noticed it too. If the title is at least in their name, in Oregon it is super easy to fill out the title replacement form, bill of sale, and title transfer form all in one go and DMV accepts it no problem. Title jumping also is legal here, so long as the paper trail is good I wouldn't mind...

Anybody try converting their RD-80 to an RD-90?

That is a graphite composite head gasket. The originals were stamped steel with sealant on them.

Anybody try converting their RD-80 to an RD-90?

Nah you good, I've heard several specs for max psi for non studded blocks. Some even as low as 8psi. I would be hesitant to go up to 15 on a stock head gasket, would consider if it was a composite gasket.

So what did you do with your truck today?

Yesterday, I offloaded the camper, and drove with a tow dolly from Portland to Ocean Shore WA to look at a car with a buddy... Unfortunately no title, no sale.... So theres a 5 hour round trip for no real reason ... Put the camper back on this morning lol

Anybody try converting their RD-80 to an RD-90?

You only need to worry about studs if you start pushing over 12psi boost. You can turn it up, and trial and error it to find the sweet spot that works for you. Little tip, use a paint pen on the balancer and the oil pan once you have the fuel adjust screw visible for easier future adjustment

    cdr delete question....

I would suggest a catch can, as there is a lot of turbulence from the IP gear, you'll lose a steady amount of oil from there, that's why people usually weld an AN fitting on the valve cover and use that for the vent.

    A SHO fan fight

Those wiring jobs look pretty good. We use those terminal ends with screw clamps on generators at work, they sure are nice to have! What I hate is the what appears rats nests of wires everywhere, like it was laid down and 'I'll deal with it later' kinda look. The hot wire pass through and...

If you wanted to rebuild a 7.3 idi, increase it's performance w/o a turbo, what would you do?

Oh neat they are for sale again. Excuse my ignorance, but couldn't someone just measure the cam profile and then make one? Or is it copyrighted?

Zip ties holding the one radio in? I did the same thing in my samurai. Still holding strong to this day. Also I think your dash is missing a few panels.

If you wanted to rebuild a 7.3 idi, increase it's performance w/o a turbo, what would you do?

A Ford master tech once told me, the 6.4 is a screamin' fast engine, but all of them are racing to the trash.

I have had it in the past that the CDR will get stuck and cause some weird thumping out the intake, maybe give it a quick clean and keep an eye on things? How to clean your CDR

If you wanted to rebuild a 7.3 idi, increase it's performance w/o a turbo, what would you do?

If I remember correctly, 500psi is a new engine. Service specs are in the mid 400's as long as they are within 10% of each other.

If you wanted to rebuild a 7.3 idi, increase it's performance w/o a turbo, what would you do?

I average about 11mpg with my cclb dually 4x4 with 4.11 stock tires, with my fully loaded camper on it, and I definitely drive it like and as*hole when merging on the freeway. Turbo is great for fuel economy, but again even as a farm rig that barely sees over 25mph, turbo still adds a lot of...
