    Hard brake pedal

Ended up getting a vac gauge and the line at the brake booster reads ~25 inHg so am assuming the vac pump is good. If issues persist will probably see if I can get a warranty replacement on the brake booster/master cylinder unit as it’s from Oreilly’s (Órales).

    Tires... Tires.... Tires....

Im running the discoverer at3 LT on a 235/85R16 and have been happy with them. Only on a SRW F250 though so slightly different application.

    Hard brake pedal

Just pulled the vac line from the top of the brake booster and it pulls/suck on my finger pretty good. Don’t have a vac gauge but it seems to be working alright at least. Was doing some brake work the past few month and not sure if I damaged the booster or something in that process. No brake...

    Hard brake pedal

Past few weeks I’ve been getting a stiff brake pedal after the truck sits for a few hours. After start up the brake pedal had returned to its normal feel. Earlier today I noticed the brake pedal started to feel a bit hard to press while driving. This brake booster and master cyl are new as of a...

    1988 IDI Wheel -tire question

I've an '88 and just run the stock size, think it's a 235/85/R16". You could go up to a 33" I think like a 305/85, from what I recall that's the biggest without needing to worry about tire rub on a stock suspension. If you want to do a lift suppose the skies the limit? Way more guys on here know...

    POP TESTING, NOT MUCH POP

Not very experienced with injectors in general but a common procedure mentioned here is to fill the fuel filter with ATF or injector cleaner, start 'er up for a short duration and then let things sit overnight. Maybe they would benefit from being cleaned since they've sat Attached below is the...

    1997 F-350 Any idea what she's worth?

Agree with Ranni, that's around what I'd expect to see it listed for around Western WA. Presumably if you got it running and could vouch for the things that work you could ask a bit more on things.

    Class I hitch install + mk4

Receiver install was a breeze compared to the 7.3 class v - which wasn’t too bad anyway. Got a Milwaukee right-angle adapter for this job and didn’t even need to drop the exhaust -Showtits Hitch seems solid as expected, have some 1/8” aluminum sheet left over and, if anything, would just make...

    Class I hitch install + mk4

Oh for sure, I meant laying fiberglass fabric/mat with epoxy near the exhaust rather than wrapping dry fabric around the exhaust. Am more concerned about the bolts pulling through/denting the body while towing. Am not sure how FRP handles heat but know it isn't really meant to have amazing heat...

    Class I hitch install + mk4

Finally going for it and gonna install a tow receiver on the vw. Went with a cheap eBay unit since I can’t tow much (weight wise) with this anyway but it’ll be really nice to haul around whatever else. The euro bosal receivers have a beefier bolt pattern but didn’t want to spend more for it...

So what did you do with your truck today?

It is bonkers, the crew is lucky to be alive they arrived with 50 gal of fuel. Kept about 2k gal in external bladders. Apparently the Mann engineers gave the green light and the owner is happy.. agree there could've been a more efficient rpm but no idea on things. The Cap'n is from WA/OR and has...

So what did you do with your truck today?

This past december there was a marine forum thread of a guy delivering a boat from San Diego to Hawaii - boat has twin Mann diesel engines and to conserve fuel they stayed at idle for about 3 weeks and made it to the islands - during a storm. Just cannot wrap my head around an engine staying at...

Intermittent crank + start switch Again? + push button

Happened to repro the no-crank condition again just now. Just a click. Likely narrowed this down to the starter motor so considering rebuild etc

    Fixing RABS ground connection

Yahtzee fixed the light haha. Yep @Nero was spot on it was the plain black wire on the passenger side between battery and fender. Was able to check continuity between candidate wires at the firewall and at the RABS harness. What’s odd is the wire switches from black/white tracer to plain black...

    Fixing RABS ground connection

The “rear antilock” light has been on in the truck since I got it. The brakes should be bled but the pedal is still soft. My thinking is the RABS May be responsible for the soft pedal. Got the error code from the RABS unit and it’s fault #2 - Open Isolate Circuit. I’ve found a rabs diagnostic...

    Front differential drip

I have a slow drip from potentially the same bolt - 4ish o’clock - on a D50. Nice to see it being discussed and some repair steps, was planning to do a full rebuild eventually with u joints et al. But also considered just rebedding a couple bolts. No safety inspection in my state though so it’s...

Intermittent crank + start switch Again? + push button

Have had a difficult time reproducing this no-crank issue the past week or so. It’s come up a few times but with no obvious pattern - replaced the starter solenoid with a Napa unit and we’ll see how things are from now on. If the issue persists will look into the starter motor now and more...

    Cold timing advance problem

to make sure I understand: this happens at ~2k rpms while the engine is still warming up - 130-140*f coolant temp range around when the timing advance turns off. Have been geting similar shakiness around these conditions for maybe 10seconds. would not say it “surges like crazy” but some...
