    First Time in 27 Years...

First time in 27 years...my fuel gelled! This morning I went to fire the truck, good-long GP burn, turn the key and it fired-up > then 5 seconds it died hard! Not sure what to do I called the master AKA 'Mel' and he explained to me, the fuel most likely gelled at the small IP inlet orifice...

    Help...Replacment key Lock Cylinder...need feedback!

Well, with a little filing at the very end of the nipple and some persuasion I got the aftermarket cylinder in...the key turns nicely but has a little more resistance when turning to the "start" position > > > but it's focking freezing outside too! All I can surmise is, wore internal column...

    Help...Replacment key Lock Cylinder...need feedback!

Hey guys, I'm on my second aftermarket replacement ignition lock cylinder....but like the first one it won't fully engage-seat in the hole! It will EASILY slide in all but 1/8" then stops dead! The OE cylinder busted at the normal place (end nipple) that and the OE cylinder came out just...

    Ignition Key Lock Cylinder Question?

Hey guys, while at my local Wawa I went to 'restart' my truck and the ignition key lock cylinder busted and the key freewheeled...LUCKILY...it broke in the 'run-position' and by jumping the terminals at the inner fender I was able to start the engine and get home. *I would have preferred a...

    Return Line Kit ?

With this current kit (maybe it came with my Baby Moose, I don't recall) the hardened-hose seems to be the problem. With prior kits the o-rings would fail and give the tell-tail long cranking cold starts. Thanks for the feedback.

    Return Line Kit ?

What merchant/retailer are you fellows using for your return-line kits? My return hoses are getting hard and brittle.

    Draining coolant

I always use a length of hose over the rad drain nipple, right into a bucket = zero mess.

    Fuel pickup tube pre filter

Sorry Todd, but the attachment doesn't show the filter. Correction, the diesel rated filter is a WIX #33972 I believe Summit Racing shows a pic of it.

    Fuel pickup tube pre filter

My OE shower heads lasted 24 years (can't complain about that) then melted away and fell off into large pieces. I pulled both tanks and just added the 'proper-submersible' fuel line. While the tanks were out I gave the outsides an acid bath to dissolve any rust then neutralized the acid...

    This Truck Is Killing Me

Danielle, not sure where in NJ you're located but, in a few months that 'may' put us into the snow-falling season...last winter we got significant snow-fall ever dang week! Honestly I don't know how much more this cab will sink but I baby it while driving, avoid any dips in the road and stay...

    This Truck Is Killing Me

Thanks Danielle, that sure sounds like a great suggestion but I don't think there are too many IDI owners in my neck of the woods that want any parts of this nightmare. If I had the shop and the equipment to pull the cab and bed and most importantly 'better health' I 'may' be able to tackle...

    This Truck Is Killing Me

As mentioned, local shop (I would trust) said it's a big job, the cab has to come off, a lot of $$$ and he doesn't even want the job! Just looking under the cab it made him sick :puke: Guys, I live in a row home or what some may think as a Town House. Very small patch of property, no room for...

    This Truck Is Killing Me

This job is waaaaaaay beyond my skill levels nor do I have the shop or ability (health wise) to even think about it. So painfully sad to see this ole girl rotting away

    This Truck Is Killing Me

Just spent $800 for new rubber and alignment...now both front Cab-Mounts are completely rotted away. I drove over a twisty incline in a driveway and the passenger door edge hit the front fender seam. :frustrate At the door hinges I shimmed it backwards a little with fender washers but the cab...

And that right there is what's really hurting me > because my ole truck is my daily driver :drunk:

So what are these trucks really worth?

Last week I thought mine was sold for $4500 (his offer) turns out he's one of those guys that likes to hear himself talk...you know the type. Now I gotta spend a grand on front springs, four tires and a front end alignment...arrrrgh!

    Pre Bent Brake Line?

And time consuming! Just the time it takes to research parts, what's junk, and or to wait for delivery, then...the time spent always wrenching on them > anymore it's like a bad marriage!
