    Starter Issues... Help!

Update... as I somewhat suspected, the solenoid on the starter must have been bad but, it had me thinking the fender mounted relay was at fault or maybe something in the wiring. Replaced the starter with another reman and it's cranking like crazy > > > hopefully this reman lasts longer then the...

    Moose Diesel Poor Customer Sevice?

I'm still confused... but I'm old. I remember Mel's Conestoga Diesel. But then I 'believe' he sold the business to someone else and he and his family moved out of state. Then... I 'believe' he was maybe doing IP rebuilds from down south... and he stopped completely?

    Moose Diesel Poor Customer Sevice?

Wait... is Moose Diesel Mel's gig as in the Baby Moose rebuild Mel did on my original IP waaaay back in 2010? I thought he sold the business and his family moved somewhere south? Any rate... Mel is/was a world of knowledge, I drove to his house where he timed my Baby Moose and we took it for a...

Sloppy shifter arm solved: loose bracket bolts

The column shifter on my bought new 1988 F250 Lariat is sloppy... feels like one day it'll pull away from the column. Believe I read somewhere parts for it are not available.

    Starter Issues... Help!

Many years ago I did replace that 'slider' switch down on the steering column that the long key rod connects to. I did adjust it for a solid engagement. Being every time I tested the 'S' plug with the 12V test light with the key in the 'start' position and it lit-up I don't believe or hope...

    Starter Issues... Help!

Thanks for all that... earlier today I 'believe' I did use the remote-starter from the + battery to the 'S' terminal and it did crank... I'll try that again tomorrow. I 'believe' the 11.70V at the S-plug was because that was during a GP burn on a cold engine. What I can do is 'if' I get the...

    Starter Issues... Help!

1988 F250 7.3 -Original owner. I'm perplexed, could sure use a little direction here; this is getting worse- I turn the key to 'start' I get a strong click that sounds like it's coming from my one year old rebuilt starter... like the solenoid gives one strong click with every turn of the key to...

Help narrowing down cause of the tapping noise..

Interesting that I don't hear the 'tapping' increase with engine speed... it sounds consistent as you're rising in MPH.

    Need Quick Help Fender Relay?

Update... so far so good, even seems to be cranking better. And again, I 'believe' the relay I replaced was original from 1988.

    Need Quick Help Fender Relay?

Update... I ended up using a made in Mexico relay from the brand "Standard" apparently it's more HD vs the ACDelco I was going to use. The truck started but earlier it also started with the relay I removed ending in "AA". Called a different local Ford dealership that went above and beyond... if...

    Need Quick Help Fender Relay?

I'll tell what kinda stinks about owning a vehicle this old > > > when giving my Ford parts guy my vin #, because it's so old, it's invalid.

    Need Quick Help Fender Relay?

Not a "weak start" as it cranks hard but, a very weak 'click' at the relay... as in, not enough voltage getting to starter. Second possibly ... the solenoid on the reman starter is already acting-up... I installed it several months ago after the original starter from 1988 was getting very tired...

    Need Quick Help Fender Relay?

OE Ford Part # for fender mounted starter relay... need number to cross reference at parts house. 1st time ever went to start truck and just got a 'click' like bad batteries but they're new and the starter is a few months old. With key 'on' I jumped the two large posts at the fender relay...

    Losing Prime

Final update... truck sat another week and fired up. Sooooo, the moral of my story is: even if you don't see damp/wet return lines but smell raw fuel, change out the return lines and O-rings anyway.

    Losing Prime

I looked at the last time I purchased the return line kit from eBay and that was 2018. However, for some reason I don't believe it's been 7-years since I last replaced the return lines. Since new I've documented my oil changes, trans service, differential service, water pump, air and fuel...

    Losing Prime

Well, I only started the truck that one day and it didn't lose it's prime, been sitting again for a few days, I will use it tomorrow. I've owned my truck since new and honestly, it's time for something new ... I've been searching for a 2025 F150.

UPDATE... Sunday the 19th I installed a new returned line kit. I started the truck and let it run for several minutes, it's been off until just now, eight days later. After the GP burn, THANK GOODNESS it fired right up and idled like normal. Having my truck since new, over the decades, several...

    Cleaning out cruddy injector bores

Here's a thought ... using an air compressor with a good sealing tip blowing air into the GP hole while using the proper injector bore brush cleaner... this way as your scrubbing the 'hole' the debris is being forced 'out' the injector hole. Oh, and wear safety glasses and make sure the intake...

    Don't Ya Just Love...

Some great replies/comments... working off a small step ladder I do fold-up a moving blanket with a piece of foam. As it was mentioned about a "top side creeper" I never knew they were a thing until a few years ago. Too late in the game to get one now and I've been hunting for a new vehicle...

    Don't Ya Just Love...

Having my truck since new I've ****** that radiator countless times... never knew a top-side creeper was even a thing until a few years ago. Unfortunately, no spare room in my garage to 'store' on of those big top-creepers and, I'm a little late in the game to get one now...been on the hunt for...

    Losing Prime

Well... I just finished installing a new return line kit... fingers crossed cause I need a break. The 'only' questionable line was 'maybe' the rear crossover for injectors #7 & #8. But again, with the raw fuel I was smelling it should have left a telltale.

Negative, the sending units failed a while back and when I dropped both tanks because the OE shower heads broke-off the 'sending units' weren't available for my truck... I believe they now are? Thankfully the fuel tank selector switch still operates. Again, zero fuel leaks under the truck.
