    89 f250 ac question

IDK. The kits we bought included o-rings. And when flushing, I took apart and flushed everything individually anyways, so o-rings were always replaced. I heard the same thing though, that any residual mineral oil will stick to the old nitrile o-rings and "seal" them to r134a so to speak. And...

    89 f250 ac question

If he's missing the conversion ports, the retrofit was likely never done IMO. If you're unfamiliar or inexperienced with refrigeration or the process, IDK if I would do this if I were you. I get helping out a friend and all, but this will be more then just add a can or two of gas, and it might...

    Bigger parts coming

You have my condolences regarding your wife. I can't imagine what you're going through with that. It's nice to see the project coming along, haven't read about this allison swap in a while since the fuel line leak. If you don't have enough room for an Air-air unit, look into a air-water...

    My options, and your opinions.

+3 on the core charge. I think I'd walk out, or at the least complain about it. They'll likely be getting the old one back regardless, but it's the principle behind it. I'm not buying something that's been rebuilt that you want back to rebuild again, I'm buying junk. That's is just a chicken...

    Water Methanol?

12v intake fans are a gimmick. You won't notice any improvement. Best bet on a van is to find a van kit and expect to pay or travel more for it. To balance the water/m3th injection port-port I'd recommend you monitor each cylinder's egt individually. You might realize they're already balanced...

    Diego Revisited

I've got a brake lathe and I wouldn't waste my time trying to turn that rotor. In my experience, when they look like that, there isn't enough meat on them to get those rust spots to clean up. For your info from napa's site, nominal(new) thickness is 1.250, discard is 1.18. So you optimally have...

    No fuel to the injectors.

No I don't think so. Placing that lever wrong I think locks the metering valve wide open, so the engine will essentially rev out uncontrolled. Fortunately, these pumps don't have a flat fuel curve, so as rpm increases, their fuel delivery capacity drops. Depending on the engine, you might hit...

    An A/C question

Use the newer condenser. The only problem with them is that you can't flush them after failure, only replace. But if you're replacing/rebuilding the system, it should be spotlessly clean inside and you shouldn't have to worry about that for awhile. The newer condensers are more efficient and...

    Cleaning out clogged AC drain.

In the shop I usually just stick the end of the shop vac over the drain. Sucks a bunch of water/crap out and is typically good to go after. You can also buy a can evap cleaner with the straw on the nozzle and spray that up in there, and then use the shop vac again.

    parallel turbos

NIcopp would likely be fine here. It doesn't work harden and get brittle like copper does. IDK if I'd use compression fittings with it though. Flare type fitting are cheap enough and you can rent the flare tools from most parts stores. We use nicopp a lot making brake lines in the shop, so my...

GearVendors behind ZF5 4x4 - Anyone done it and care to share their setup?

When I said highway speeds, I meant on the interstate at 80+. I wouldn't think you'd need double OD to run 50-60? I too enjoy driving in snow. It's when others are out and about in it when it becomes un-fun.

Fox body overflow tank in an IDI?

I don't remember the project anymore, but it fit where I needed it and did the job. Might have been 10 bucks at the pick+pull, which was cheaper then any universal unit that I could find.

Fox body overflow tank in an IDI?

Any coolant tank will likely work, so long as it pulls from the bottom of the tank and allows the back and forth flow of coolant due to heat/expansion. CCD has an aluminum one that you can purchase. I retrofitted one off a late 90's jeep wrangler once, simply because it was tall/skinny like...

Another lift pump lets me down.

Return pressure increases housing pressure, which drops plunger stroke length. When I installed the generator on the bus, I tee'd into the current fuel system, and installed check valves on the return side by mistake. With the check valves in place, my return system was held at lift pump...

Another lift pump lets me down.

I think they did, but I couldn't find any pictures of them though. Like I said, the company is no longer in business, so unless you want to build your own from scratch, the design is no more then a reference.

Another lift pump lets me down.

Yes and yes. That particular picture is one for a small block chevy, however they made them for big blocks too. They operate similar to a diaphragm pump in that it's 5-7 psi self regulating. Unfortunately I couldn't find material compatibility for the o-rings and check valve, and now they also...

Another lift pump lets me down.

I'd forgo the vacuum pump, just because I think hydroboost is a superior system. A little electric unit with a small reservoir would operate the ac and cruise, so long as neither system is leaking. I was looking at the piston style race fuel pumps, but couldn't find material used or...

GearVendors behind ZF5 4x4 - Anyone done it and care to share their setup?

I think the double over is fine. My thought is why would you need double over while in 4wd? What's the minimum speed for a gearvendors anyways, 50mph? If you're in a low traction scenario that requires 4wd should you really be driving highway speeds? I'd have the gearvendors after the transfer...

    search conestoga diesel

https://moosediesel.com/ They moved from Pennsylvania to South Carolina a few years ago and changed their name in the process. I think there was a thread about it here at one time. Mel was an active member here at one time, but unfortunately hasn't posted in a while.

Fuel filter light comes up what could be the cause?

Kill the growth with a biocide of some sort. https://powerservice.com/psp_product/bio-kleen-diesel-fuel-biocide/ Then add a tank/system cleaner. https://powerservice.com/psp_product/clear-diesel-fuel-tank-cleaner/ And then do a procedure called "fuel system polishing". I use power service...

Running without a fan or shroud?

I remember a lot of hot rodders and corvette guys used 87-93 taurus fans with success. I also know some of your chrysler minivan fans from the late 90's blow pretty hard. Pretty much every vehicle today comes with an e-fan, except for a lot of trucks. If your always loaded light and have a lot...

Running without a fan or shroud?

I forgot, but some of your model t's didn't have water pumps also. They were low powered, had a big enough radiator, and the radiator had enough rise over the engine that they allowed the thermosiphon to work.
