    Pretty sure it was oregon camshaft who originally came up with that cam grind. Heard of it before the forum days. Seems like they called it the logger cam.....idi powered crummys were everywhere back then.

    First section of shaft angle should match engine trans t case. Pretend it is just an extension of the t case. Pinion angle should match engine and first section of shaft. By the book, you want that first u joint running through a small angle, less than .5 though, to at least move the rollers...

    Single wire temp sensor is for the temp gauge on the dash. Ecm uses oil temp as engine temp. What problems are you having?

    Have you had the lid off of the pump? I have seen that return fitting blocked by rust a few times. Typically the gov. components will get rusty from moisture in fuel and lack of use.

    Timing spec with pulse style meter is 8.5. I believe the spec done with the lumy probe is around 4atdc....

    Must be a doug nash od unit? common to leak around the shift motor, and that style speedo drive. Make sure it isnt over full, pretty common on add on units to take on oil from stuff they are bolted to.

    This should work out nicely. The lower gear zf is a key part though. I think I am about 10k miles into going 355 from 410 in my truck that I have personally been driving for 23 years. It has the 414 geared 4spd, with usg overdrive. Towing power is a little softer, and the tall first gear sucks...

    Have never heard of either of those meters. The snapon box I have has had many different lights hooked to it all worked fine.

    What is this in the injector

    You can actually connect the wires from a pulse style timing meter to it, and it triggers the box. It is a piezo sensor, just like the little piezo clamp that is ised with a pulse box.

    Dont replace parts yet. I suspect that a few minutes with a test light before and after the starter sol. will show something. what DOES work?

    Some of the old kits just wont work with the zf. I have been able to make some work, but in the end wasnt worth the work. Those old turbos are better than no turbo, but an 093/factory kit works better in most every way.

    None of those are real exciting....7.3 powerstroke would be pretty easy, 24v and 5r would be cooler though. Reliability will come down to the quality of work done during the swap.

    I wouldnt say the detroit locker would be troublesome when towing, but, they for sure can be annoying at times, all the funny and not so funny noises they can make. Long wheelbase, and auto trans can make them not even noticeble, but even in short stuff, driving style can make them barely...
