Dreaded ATS OEM Turbo Up-pipe slip joint leak has killed my boost 2022 edition.

I think it would be expansion, or possibly engine to frame movement. I know on the earlier 7.3PSD's Ford used a bellows pipe in the up pipes. Then later 7.3 and on the 6.0 I think they used a different type of joint that looked like woven wire's..... Think carbon fiber.... but with a steel...

Dorman Vacuum air pump testing Rockauto

From what I remember, there is a plug (looks like a bolt) on the back side of the pump. There shouldn’t be any oil in the suction side, that would come out of the port. This would be on the other side of the diaphragm to lube the bearings and the diaphragm to drive interface. I’ll have to do...

Leaving is your choice, as was joining. The issue was addressed, and I'm sorry it was not to your liking. However, what I have said will stand, and any long time members that are still active, have seen issues addressed this very same way, and has been successful many times over. If things...

    Floor mats

I know this doesn't really help... but....... I have Weathertech Fitted Mats in the Front, and the Husky liner in the rear of my SuperCrew and am happy with the quality and fit of both. The reason I have 2 different brands, when I bought the truck it had the Weathertechs in it and the...

    Pulled a 1987 out of a hole

I think your radius has more to do with the front axle setup than the box. Because Ford used the same box on all the pickups, the ranger... maybe even the early explorer..... so I don't think it's the box. Maybe the pitman arm, or a difference in the front axle setup. If I remember correctly...

    RockAuto.com Discount Code - Expires October 7, 2022

They do have, and except returns. You have to go through the simple steps on their website. I had a part that was not correct, and they returned and credited it no issues.

    Overheating

Is you bottom radiator hose collapsing/sucking shut when the RPM's are raised. Seen that happen. Originally that hose would ahve had a spring inside, where the coolant flows to prevent this. I've red the new hoses are "built differently, and don't need a spring", but have seen them suck...

    1989 7.3idi n/a hard hot start/no start when warm??

Both tanks on an IDI should be in the 20 gallon range. I think 18-20 gallons, so it does sound like the shower head has fallen off

Running new motor oil vs waste motor oil?

My opinion it does smell a bit different, but wouldn’t say is smelling like hydraulic fluid. But ****** motor oil should look more like honey than molasses… that stuff in the tote looks awful dark to me….

99-00 4.10 rear end transplant in my '86?

Ford went to the 8 x 170mm lug spacing with the release of the 99 F-250/350 "SuperDuty" Trucks. Then there is another change to 8 x 180mm (I think) but I believe that isn't until the 6.4 era trucks (08-10)... Correct, I am not sure which exact year they made the switch, but the vans did keep...

    Bullnose front Recovery Hooks?

What we did was nice... but not something that just anyone could have easily done.... (well now almost 40 years later, maybe it would be....) Dad was able to make a pattern that matched the contour of the inside of the front bumper, and then had a large hole in it that protruded down and even...

    IDI pariphinalia?

That is what I paid for a 2011 F-150 Regular Cab XL, 2wd, V-6 N/A, long bed. Had a cloth seat and the better radio and the tow package... funny thing is, it was equipped almost the same as my 88 IDI XLT Lariat that I had at the same time. This was before vehicle prices went crazy (Early 2019)...

    Sharing a find, HO waterpump

Yea, what I am seeing in the coffee table book for the 7.3 IDI Turbo (and I think Ford used the same water pump for all 6.9/73. IDI's, all the cross references I can find for water pumps show fitment for 1983-1994) is the cooling system flows 79gpm @ 3000rpm. So it is moving 79 gallons a minute...
